those cds that supposedly have sublimal messages for weight loss. You play them while relaxing and you are supposed to magically lose weight. Well, not magically, but your mindset is supposed to be different. You are supposed to feel differently about the food. I have one. I have only listened to it a couple of times though and I think you are supposed to listen to it daily.
Has anyone else tried this?

i think people who are easily swayed to begin with, who always follow the crowd, etc may be able to convince themselves it works. But i know it would never work for me. Its kinda like hypnotizing...you have to WANT to by hypnotized, you have to WANT the CD to work, in order for it to work. I think if anything the CD would give you tips about healthier eating habits and then in turn you'll remember them better when you go grocery shoping or go to eat or what have you. Can't hurt to try it at least!

No, what it is about is visualization. Then you visualize yourself only eating half of what is on your plate. I have listened to it twice now. You are supposed to relax and visualize what they say. I listen to it when I go to bed. I think I am falling asleep. I know I did the first night so the relaxing isn't a problem. My mind drifts though. it sort of goes hand in hand with the secret/law of attraction. I believe in that and am trying to change my life to the way they suggest. I am working really hard at it. I am making a vision board this weekend. It isn't finished yet, but I do have some stuff on it. I am hoping all of this will help me in the long run. With everything, not just weigt loss.

It helps to have an expectant mindset when listening to a subliminal CD or tape. It's also good if you can get a script of the messages. Some subliminal messages, if worded incorrectly, will not be effective. For a very simple example, if you heard the message "Don't panic" over and over, you mind might start focusing on the word "don't" which is negative, or focus on the word "panic" which would also not be good. However, if the phrase, "Be calm" was repeated over and over, the mind would probably find that to be a pleasant request, and respond in the way it was intended.

It isn't subliminal. It's about visualization.

Visualization is good. It does work. I used to use visualization when I ran track in high school. On a relay team it was important to be in the right place at the right time, but each meet had slightly different tracks, and weather conditions were always changing in the Spring. So we did a lot of visualizing before our races. The pole vaulters and high jumpers also visualized themselves clearing the bar before their jumps.
Of course, visualization works is other areas as well.
