Grandpa Bob Homeless?

Grandpa Bob - Am I homeless with this hat on?

Okay I have had it with my daughter. HAHAHAHA! She will understand. (hopefully) Anyhow I love this stocking cap and wear it inside the house almost all the time as well as outdoors in the cold. No I do not wear it in the summer/spring. Hahahaha! Now what bugs me is my daughter calls it "the homeless hat". She says I look homeless when I wear this hat? So what do you think? Is Grandpa Bob a Homeless bum in this stocking cap or what? If you wish you also may give my daughter a hard time with your responses. Please!! Hahahaha!! She is also a member here & will more than likely read the responses. HAHAHAHA! Thanks in advance also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Why on earth would you're daughter think by wearing that hat it makes you look like a homeless person? Uh, most homeless folk probably wouldn't even have a hat at all. Nope, to my mind that hat almost looks "pixie-ish" or elfish. :) Now don't tell me you sleep with THAT hat on too? hehe. Like the Christmas one??

Bad daughter of AGB, Bad, bad, bad girl! How can you say such things about our beloved AGB? Don't you listen to her my sweet - I think you look great! My nephews have similar hats and they look like tortoises in them but you suit yours! Again naughty daughter of AGB - you should hang your head in shame! (was that enough of a telling off for your daughter AGB?) xxxx

No... I do not think this makes you look homeless, and actually, I am glad you were refering to this hat, instead of actually being homeless. I think we should be allowed to wear whatever makes us feel comfortable without making us look to bad. Keep on wearing your hat. I personally see nothing wrong with it.

Many years ago when I met my wife we lived outdoors for a year or more of our own accord. Back then people like us were called "BUMS" not homeless. Thanks bunches. I wore it almost all day too. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well I think it is a very sexy hat, very becoming, I think she probably thinks you look so darn cool in it she just has to keep you in your place so you don't get a big head about just how gorgeous you look...hows that, did I go overboard there...???? :)

HeHe. I find your stocking cap very cute. I would burn up if I wore it indoors though. Do you not get hot with that on your head indoors? I can see how it would really hold a lot of body heat in when you are outdoors. We lose most of our heat through our head when outdoors (or so the books say). Instead of homeless, I would say it looks a little 'gangsta'...Ha!

No this cap is really thin and not all that warm. I have a really thick wool cap for warmth. So my head doewsn't get hot with it on indoors. Now the other one my head sweats when I wear it indoors. Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, ya don't look homeless to me, ya look like ya came in from being out in the cold and forgot to take it off. Heck, I see people all the time wearing stocking hats. But it's mostly young kids. Of course, around here this time a year, you just never know if you're going to go outside and it's going to be 30 degrees or 60. (We've had both in the last 7 days, and today's high is supposed to be like 25... Oh Joy).... You should however, let her know that the job as a parent is ever evolving. Tell her that you remember when your daughter was little and she said something in the company of other people (or did something else) that absolutely embarrassed you, and that it is now your job to return the favor.

Hello webeishere, Actually, you look great in that cap:-) We all have our own likes and dislikes that may or may not match with people surrounding us. Many a time, people dislike something about others (relatives) because they love them. I know, I dislike a cap that my father wears sometimes in winter while going outside. I would admit that he too looks great in that cap, quite decent and handsome too (not that he isn't decent or handsome otherwise, LOL!). My father and I are more like friends to each other. He still looks young (at 55) and believe it or not, there have been many occasions when someone either not knowing either of us or our relationship, asked if we were brothers (my father being my elder brother :-)). What irks me about it is that when he wears that cap, he looks older and that offends my friendship relation with him, not actually but figuratively. He just don't look that young who is my friend and I don't want to spoil this relationship even in looks, LOL! I would like to think that the problem with your daughter is along the same or similar lines. Only she can present her view about how she thinks and why she dislikes it about you. I think she loves you very much, actually.

Thanks very much. There's a lot of clothing my wife or kids don't like but that's not changing my habits as far as those items go. They have beared with it and tease me which is fine as well. So the hat stays on my head and I laugh at my daughters comments daily. Hahahaha!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

NO...Don't burn it!!! You hardly ever see stocking caps anymore. A man recently came into where I work wearing one (maybe you?) and i thought it was great. How does a hat make one appear homeless. I would think that lack of a roof would be the only clue.

Its just kidding around jeez. I just think it looks homeless because he wheres it a little off his head and usually looks like he needs a shaving and well then when we go out his asthma will kick in you just gotta see it. Plus if you know my dad youd know how he acts hehehe. He knows im just messing with him (at least i hope). And trust me I dont look so good in a stocking cap either I know who I get that from.

You don't look homeless but you do greatly resemble a that elf in the animated Rudolph cartoon that wanted to be a dentist. Wear something like a fedora, a derby or a top hat. Those will keep your head warm and they're very classy. I got my son a black top hat (not a stovepipe) for Christmas and people are constantly talking about it and telling him how cool it is. Total strangers compliment him! So try it. I'll bet your daughter won't complain then. :-)

HAHAHA! My daughter has also mentioned a crook like appearance in the past. When I worked as a machinst they had a poster made of me with a similiar type cap and unshaven face that was a wanted poster stuck up in the lunch room. HAHAHAHA!! I have a derby that I call "My old mans hat". The family ALL hate it except for my son. I'd love a stovepipe hat. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I do not see many homeless people around here. It looks a lot like what my hubby wears around a lot. I guess if you turn your thermostat down you may need a hat in the house. They say your head is where you lose the most heat.

As I have my elderly father living with us we keep the heat at either 70 or 72 for his warmth. So I don't have to wear it indoors. I just do as I hate hat hair. So I keep it on to hide the hat hair. Hahahaha!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

To me you do not look homeless you look silly. I think if you wore it in the summer time you would deffiently have the homeless look. hahahahaha The homeless around here wear all their clothes not matter how hot of cold it is. Now put on all your coats and hats then go out in 90 degree weather and roll around in your garden then I would say you are homeless. hahahahahaha

I have actually worn a stocking cap in the summer. But I worked with refridgerated trucks so I need it actually. But I looked and felt silly driving around with it on when it was 90 outside. HAHAHA!! Hmmmm? Maybe this can be my :"gardening cap" this spring/summer? Nahhh! HAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

well, I must say it does look like those beanies that the homeless on the streets wear to keep warm. but then again, lots of other folks need to keep warm and they too wear beanies. so this argument is more of a 'homeless people tend to wear beanies' but not all who wear beanies tend to be homeless. i think you also look a little like dr seuss. :)

awwww....my Dad always wore a knit cap just like yours and when I saw it this morning he was the first thing I thought about. We used to tell him he looked like a long shoreman...lol...but I think there were less homeless people back 19 years ago so maybe we would have started saying the same thing! Keep the hat it gives you character...lol
