Well, what else aside from those spears, swords and shields, would you suggest for those Spartan's to bring on fighting against those Persians in the film?

they could have brought some of their women..as greek women are the worst fighters in the world..just like the scots and the russian women

300 is an absolutely terrific movie. the attitude, the valour the spartans display send a chill down my spine. so much to keep their honour. they challenged and even demured a person who projected himself as god. i think they were bogged down by the wrong priests who just had no respect for these warriors. my personal favorite line in the movie when the king says : SPARTANS NEVER RETREAT!!!!!!!!!! may be they missed HYPOCRISY and UNFAIR MEANS....

Cultural differences and other aspects before that seems to be different when it comes to how we perceive things now-a-days.. before, how they see or comprehend things is how it is.. simple enough for them..

Ooo this is fun! Okay hmm....I would say they should bring of of their own animals, like the Spartans did! They could capture those wild wolves and them send them out to the spartans when they charge. A wolf if sure to attack a charging enemy!

You mean the Spartans would brings wolves or the enemy would bring them against the Spartans? I kind'a got confused on your third sentence, "send them (wolves) out to the spartans when they charge." That would be interesting though, wolves in the battlefield ^_^

I think steel mesh armors or chain mail were around during the medieval period.. seeming that knights wore them most of the times.. then again, I am not certain of the time line of the movie 300 ^_^;

Wow, this was 7 months ago? Anyway, to be honest, I liked the original old 300 Spartans. In fact I didn't like this new one at all actually. It's kinda too fake to be honest

Yes, I do agree about that in the film. I would also like to have the chance to read the graphic novel where the movie was based on but, actually, there was an earlier version of this movie, The 300 Spartans, I think.. Anyway besthope44, what else do you think, aside from spears, sheilds or swords, should the Spartans have brought with them when they faced the Persians...?

That wouldn't been advisable... a phalanx and some archers at the rear.. as long as the phalanx keep the enemies at bay, the archers would be safe.. wel, except from enemy archers, of course...
