How Do you Boost your Referrals?

I'm a member of a fair few PTC sites now as well as MyLot, to try and make a little extra money, but it seems you can't really earn anything unless you get referrals for these sites. None of my real life friends seems interested in these sites and I don't understand anything about computers, so I wouldn't know how to make ads and things for them.
How do people manage to get referrals? Are there places online where you can just post your links?
Is it against MyLot rules to post referral links in your profile?

i'm also one of those who don't really know how to get referrals. my relatives, friends, families are not interested. thus, i just go for those sites that i can do without referrals. i have found abot 3 and been paid by one. i have yet to reach payout for the other 2.
you can post your links in your profile as mentioned earlier. best of luck to you. i can't give you much advice too. you can try doing those get referrals programs and traffic programs. they might help a little though they haven't for me so far since i'm relatively new too.

Thanks, but what are referral programs and traffic programs. I've heard them mentioned but I've really no idea what they are or how to use them! Are there some that you use that are easy to understand?

Do you post onto any newsgroups? If you do, try attaching a signature, with a referral link. When you post on topic, other readers will see your signature and hopefully they'll sign up under you. Hopefully that helps.

Here is a web site that provides free newservers: http://www.newsservers.net/index.php
Newsgroups are places like message boards. There are virtually newsgroups for every subject out there.

Hi and thanks for your response. What exactly is a newsgroup and are there any that you could recommend to me that I can post on?

Hi Phaedra_Scythe, what you can try doing as well is to set up a blog where you review the programs that you have joined, and think are good, and then have people sign up through your links when they come across your blog. You can also review those which you think are scams, and it can help build credibility and trust. There is some work to be done in writing the reviews and of course promoting your blog.

Hi and thank you. Do you mean a blog here on MyLot or is there another site that you recommend starting a blog on?

If you'd be willing to create an account on my site & start writing you could place your links in your profile and also either in context with your article/blog entry or at the bottom as sort of a signature line...see my profile for the link to the page if it might interest you.
i will say it is a new site - but could be helpful to you in the long run.

Did you get the message I sent you with the links and banner codes? I tried to send it twice but I'm not sure that it worked!
