I love my cat...ever since i was a kid, i really love our cats...but now, we only have one cat at home...what's the cool thing about my cat is that he had learn some tricks...because whenever i have time, that's when i am not too busy from work, and i would go home and teach my cat some tricks...my brother would teach cool tricks to our cat too...and if i have the time, i would give our cat a bath...before my cat would just stay out from my hand whenever i would give him a bath and splash him with water...my cat would just run around and would act not normal trying to get rid of water...but now, my cat is used with it already, he's not scared of water, he likes to be in the water, and play with it...there are days that i really don't have time for my cat because i am always busy at work, and my brother will be the one who takes care of our cat...i guess, i don't believe in the saying that cats don't like to be in water...
I am so thankful for having a very cute and smart cat...he's a unique cat, a one of a kind, i would say...thank GOD because i have a cat like that...
Does your cat too loves to be in water? Have you ever gave your cat a bath?

I do give my cats a bath. They love to go under cars and trucks in my neighborhood. And when they come home, they are so dirty and sometimes have grease on their fur. I don't know how to take off the grease in one bath, so it takes a few weeks for that stain in my cats' fur to go away. But my cats already know when it's bathtime when I bring out the garden hose. LOL.

I remember my son deciding one day (a few years back) that he was going to bath our cat as he was a bit dirty, the cat was only a kitten then, so he thought it would be easy. He got scratched to bits it was awful the cat was like something possessed!! Needless to say he didnt do it again. We had a persian that didnt mind being bathed, he was long haired and so had to be bathed quite regular, we used to blow dry him after and he was like a big puffball, he was persian blue in colour so he always quite stunning after a bath.

hello there to U...thanks for having a care to share something about your cat to my discussion...i really appreciate it...yes, at first, cats would scratch you if you attempt to give them a bath...because it's their only way to get rid out of water, but in the long run, they will get used to it...if and when you have still the patient to train them by giving them a bath and let them swim with water...wow, your cat is beautiful and cute...persian cats are cute, and you have a persian blue cat, which is so cute and beautiful to look at...keep on loving and caring your cat...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

My cat doesn't like water. I tried to give him a bath before and he scratched me lots of times...so I just stopped giving him baths. He seems clean though I always see him cleaning himself and he doesn't go outside much. Just sleeps on the bed and he poos and pees on the bathroom so I guess he's ok without it. He's really a cool cat and I love him just as much as I love my kids.

hello there to U...thanks for sharing your beautiful thoughts to my discussion...yes, our cat does that too at first, when me and my brother would want him to give him a bath, and we're being so patient and so careful...but days and weeks have passed, our cat became used with it, and now, my cat loves to be in water...that's the good thing about cats because they like cleaning themselves...it's good to know that your cat is smart, cool, and that you love your cat just as much as you love your kids...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

No, not really.
Cats like to lick themselves and give themselves their own natural bath doing so. There's no need to give it an extra bath with water and soap. That's what cats HATE!
Speaking of which, last year, when my new yellow cat stayed with me in the bathroom while I was taking a bath, it was strangely curious about the bathwater. After I got out and unplugged the drain, the cat jumped onto the rim of the bathtub, and just as I was about to get my robe on, he slipped and fell in not once, but TWICE! I should've gotten my camera out for that! He jumped out as he freaked out, and once again repeatedly twice! It was hilarious!

My two cats now do not like a bath but my previous two many years ago used to love them. In fact sometimes if I had left the bathroom door open they would try to get in with me which I never allowed but they would jump up onto the side on the bath and make me feel guilty for not letting them, but I have a guinea now who not only enjoys baths but like to have a blowdry after, and will sit four hours being combed. Animals are such characters aren't they? Ellie :D

I would not say that my cat loves water... but he does not go in a panic about it.
However... I have a hard time keeping him in the bath.
On the other hand... he will walk in the rain and in water poddles.
The fur of cats protect them both from the cold and the heat... and also from predators who might try to bite them. So it is important that they keep their fur dry in order not to lose that protection.
