Ultimate Showdown: Batman vs Captain America

Batman. Hands down Batman! But you do realize that Spider-Man could kick the crap out of both of them without breaking a sweat right? :)

Batman would win. No doubt in my mind. When it comes down to it, The Dark Knight would throw honor out the window and cheat if he had to. Cap may be the top soldier ever created but Batman has trained himself to be the best, period.

It's been done actually, during a series that happened years ago which spawned a short series of comics called the Almalgam comics. The fights were set up and voted upon by the fans. Batman won. As to my personal opinion as to why? Well, they're both very evenly matched all around when it comes to fighting abilities, agility and the like. Cap has a bit of an edge in the strength and endurance area, but put quite simply, he's no match for Batman's intellect. In the end, it's likely Batman would have devised a way to beat Captain America before the fight even started. Whether it was by the various gasses found in his utility belt, or something built and brought with him specifically for the fight. In the end though, it'd be the circumstances of what brought on the battle which would determine how much difficulty Batman would have.
