You should start by trying to make casual converstation with him. That should you know help with your nerves so you don't feel nervous and not know what to say to him. Then when you get comfortable around him you should invite him to a movie or something. Just make a day where you guys can be alone and get to know each other better then on you guys day alone you should tell him how you feel about him.

well I was in a similar situation in high-school. There was a really pretty girl who started attending my school when I was a senior.
