This is such a gross out to me. If you are at a party and you see someone double dip, do you eat after them? I don't and I just saw yuck-o if I see some one else doing it. I only double dip if it's just my own dip. How about you, do you double dip?

Ewwwww! If I saw someone double dipping at a party, it might turn me off eating dip at parties for a long time. Like someone else said, I don't even like someone eating out of a bag anymore. Gross gross gross. I don't know why either but it just feels that way. Maybe because they're licking their fingers!!! Now I make everyone here get their own bowl. Now I pour my own dip in one of these cute little salsa bowls just for me and I can double dip to my heart's content. whit

I do the same thing. I have these cute little bowls too that I put the salsa in, just for me........and who ever else wants any dip or salsa! OK, I didn't even think about licking fingers and putting them into a bag. Sometimes I go into my office and the large bag of chips I had all sealed up with tape and a clip is sealed differently, so I know some one else was into it........you think they licked their fingers and put them into my bag of chips?

Hmmmm, if my husband worked in your office, I would say yes. Thirty years I have been asking that man to stop... !!!! But that's probably another discussion topic haha. But you never know where those fingers have been before they've been in that bag!

It seems most people don't. At least in this discussion. I taught my children not to double dip unless they have their own portion on their own plate or bowl. Germs are a huge worry, I am afraid of salad bars too :{

I don't double dip, as don't want to get sick. If I go to a party, then I don't dip at all rather eat it plain, then think about what I'm going to catch from others. The risk of getting sick is to great, so I'm not taking chances with my health.

I will only dip if I see it put out and know who has been in it :) I'll try to be first and get a spoon full on my plate, then I can dip all I want!

There is no way I will eat after I see someone double dip from the main dish. Who knows what germs may there there! I will double dip in my own home out of my own bowl.

OK I'll come clean. I have never knowingly double dipped, but I bet that I have done so unknowingly. 50 people, big bowls of dips, doritos or whatever. Dunk dunk dunk. Just writing about it is starting to make me feel nauseous. The one thing that I never, ever, ever do, is take mints or peanuts from bar/hotels when they are placed in small bowls on bar tops or in rooms. Who knows what germs have been left there by previous guests? By the way, what do you do with the left over dip. Mine sits in the fridge for about a week and then gets thrown out. Does anybody actually use them again?
