Well, now that it's over, what do you make of the African Nations Cup Ghana 2008?
I think it's been a very entertaining competition, the football played being really good (especially as it moved on to the final stages).
It's been a cup with many spectacular goals, and some young players that the big clubs should keep their eyes on.
I must admit that Egypt wasn't among the teams I expected to battle for the title, but I added them to the top of the list as soon as I've seen them play the very first match.
In the end, hard team work and organization came on top of dribbling and individual play, and that is why I am very happy Egypt won the Cup!
Now, I can't wait for the next African Nations Cup to begin

It's true that the defense wasn't what we could have expected from Ghana and Cote D'Ivoire... After all, Toure and Eboue play in the Premiership, while the Ghanian defense proved its value in Germany at the World Cup... Who knows, maybe with Steven Apiah and with Mensah in the semi-final, Ghana would have been stronger....

I wish I'd made more time to watch it as what I saw was impressive. Africa is producing some great players at the moment and I was surprised to see Egypt in the final as I expected it to be Ghana or Ivory Coast but well done Egypt.

Spectacular goals indeed but the football played wasn't that good. Even if there are a few talents among the teams Ivory Coast is full of talents, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana they miss team experience, they play everyone for them self. I expected more from this African Nations Cup.

I must agree that many of the teams expected to win the Cup didn't play much of a team game, maybe that is why Egypt won, because they had a very well organized team.
The football wasn't of the best quality, but I believe it was better than in the 2006 edition.

In my opinion Drogba was the poorest player. I didn't see him helping to much his team. It was a big difference from what he plays at Chelsea. I believe he was selected only to raise the team spirit in the cabins and just that. It was clear that for him this cup had no importance because his already a star in his country, the money he could have won can win them in one week at his club. To conclude Ivory Coast played in 10.
