can someone explain to me what is this wrestling all about? where is the purpose of this "sport"? why do people pay a lot of money to view this circus? what can kids learn from this: who to act = how to be fake? what kind of game is it: a contact sport/ cheap theater/ circus or what?

let's not get confused. for me there are 2 types of wrestling: 1 they say it's called amateur wrestling and has been an Olympic sport for over 100 and 2 is the one I can't find it's meaning ex: RAW, WWE, Royal Rumble and other and they call it "profesional wrestling" = fake. I believe that your daughter is greco-roman wrestler.

actually i don't know if that is what they call it... but I don't think... I know they wrestle the same as the olympics...
the winners from state... go to nationals... and then If Iremember right they can get qualified for the olympics or something...

in my opinion, pro-wrestling (wwe, tna, ecw) are the modern day reincarnations of the the roman coleissum and gladiator sports. The roman emperors used to hold these festivities to take the people's minds of the rael political problems.
Human beings also have a wild and primeval side of psyche in them.this subtle subconscious needs excitement in physical forms such as sports .There is also some sort of blood thirstiness in every one of us in the minute degree.to quench this thirst we watch and indulge in contact amd martial sports.
promotions like PRide,UFC and K_1 are MMA and is real and not suitable for children. But wrestling promotions with their scripted performances are ideal for kids (ofcourse, parental discretion is required).
this is how i explain the need for martial/contact sports in our artificial state of society...

That might be the same with all sports, and not just wrestling... The point of watching them. A few years ago, I gave wrestling a chance and I kept watching it because I found the stories interesting back then, I am not sure why I still continue to watch it. I will never pay so much for a ticket to any sport and I don't know why people do it. About wrestling being fake, movies are too.

Look as a former college wrestler and an mma fighter the WWE is not wrestling it is a disgrace to the name. Wrestling was belived by the ancient greeks to be the sport of gods. it is a battle between two things force and will. the force of one man to turn his opponent and dominate his will.
