Good question. I think some of them are...but I went to one site that didn't charge you anything unless you wanted to become a gold/silver member or something like that which allows you to view certain openings in your area. There are also auditing tests that you can take online for certain venues that you want to participate in. They give you about 12 or 13 pages to read so that you know what to do when you go into a particular place to secretly shop. Then you take the test and once you get all of the?s right, you can print out the check list for what to do when you go to your venue and you have to write your observations down and answer any questions on the print out, then you're good to go. I'm going to try the Chili's happy hour one. I know you have to scan your license in there and your receipt so that they have proof of purchase as well as proof of age for drinking venues.
