Yes, this really is about the Beatles, or *A* Beatle anyway....
I woke up early this morning and I wanted potato pancakes. Yeah... I could go to IHOP and get some so-so potato pancakes, but WHY? when I could drive downtown to the 24 hour "New York Style Jewish Deli" and get some GOOD potato pancakes.
Since (1) the roommate wasn't up and (2) she's being a putz about going to this place, I decided to drive down there with my book, and eat some potato pancakes.
I no sooner get my food and this guy comes over and starts asking about the book, the writer, just anything.
Then he says he's only been to Austin for a month and he went to an "AA" meeting and they said there that Ringo Starr once attended a meeting there. He apparently expressed doubt & several others said they were there when he came.
He laughed and did an immitation "Hi, I'm Ringo and I'm tired of waking up on the floor."
I replied that he might've said Richard, but that I saw Ringo when he came to town for Aquafest years ago.
Now, I'm not surprised that Ringo goes to AA meetings, I think most of us know he had his problems with the bottle back in the days. I just thought I'd share this little story with my Beatle friends here on Mylot!
You have any cute stories to share?

That's a great story. Mine doesn't compare, but...when I was about 10 years old, living in downtown Toronto, Canada, it was about the time that The Beatles made one of their 3 (?) appearances in our city. I was walking down my street and I could almost swear a car drove by and I saw The Beatles in it. I'll never know if it was them, but I'll never forget that day, either.
