Signs are truly one of the greatest inventions in the history of human life. I am thankful for the signs. what if signs are not there, cars are going in wrong direction, pedestrians are getting hit by on coming traffic, Peoples in Chinese shop asking for pizza, how to advise errant driver, peoples going to laundromat for buying foods etc, can you imagine the world with no signage?

Hi mahesh, how are you. Interesting discussions. I agree that signs are very helpful in every field of life. It is great that human beings got educated and made life easy, day by day, sometimes by inventing new things or sometimes by discovering things which were already existing but man kind was unaware of it. Imagining world with proper signs means world without any instructions, guidelines, rules regulations.....wow sounds scary.....lol Thanks to Education and Knowledge spreading people.

Hello Apsara ji , Iam fine, and hope you are also in good health. I agree with you that humans being educated are able to make life easy. As it is said "Necessity is the mother of invention". When it is necessary human acn invent a new way and so these signs are. Thanks for your response.

When you think about it that way it is really clear that signs are so neccessary. Even street signs that tell us what street we are on and signs with addresses. But then again there used to be signage in my country that said For Whites Only and things like that so signage can also be harmful. However signage is an important part of our society I willgive you that.

During WWII, most of Europe either painted out their street signs or took them down to confuse the Germans. It did work at times too! The only problem was the railroads made it easy to find directions because they were laid out logically, but even they could be confusing with their signs removed.
I think is was a grand effort of resistance to remove all the signs. Can you just immagine the effort of haveing to put them all back after the War when so many landmarks were destroyed. It must have been hard even for the locals.

no I cannot a imagine a world without signs,
even before writing came about people communicated through signs,
they used sign language which is vitally important today for who cannot talk (mute)
the ancient predicted world events through signs,
farmers predicted crop seasons etc through weather signs
religions predicted different religious happening through signs,
doctors looks at different signs of disease etc to help people in ancient times and today as well

I don't want to imagine a world without signs - I never paid much mind to them until now but to think of all the 'mess-ups' and bad things that could happen if we didn't have signs is depressing.

No I can not imagine how crazy life would be without traffic signs. I do believe like you had metioned that their would be a horrible increase in accidents. Their would be total mayhem. People would be driving all crazy especially the old people. There would be an increase in road rage alone. There'd be no crosswalks or stop signs, there'd be no control a total lack of it.

hi, I will say that it will be a totally chaostic world without signs. the simplest thing that I can imagine is ... I don't know where to go and I will be lost completely in a new place without sign. people will not know where they should turn to when they drive, and nobody knows for sure what kind of things being sold by a store or how much the price is for certain products, and yes, we will be completely lost without signs.
