Hi guys, this happened last night... I went home riding on a jeepney (public utility veh) alone. As i stepped inside i noticed two girls infront of me talking and then stare at me, they would laugh and always stare again which is very annoying. I started to feel uncomfortable and i had no one to talk to. What i did what to stare back but with a little smile, and that's it, did nothing more than that. I'm not really sure if i was the one they were talking about or laughed at...i was relieved to see them stepped out first.
Did something like this happened to you? What did you do? If not what would you have done?
A very happy day to everyone!c",)

I have experienced this several times before... Well, I remember this happening back when I was in high school and I really don't like being stared at especially when they whisper something to their companions and look at me then laugh... Urgh! It's insulting you know... I would approach them and ask them if they had anything against me or something. But of course, that was in high school. In college, I learned to stare back and let them feel conscious until they look away.. hehehe! That's what I do until now. I don't know but it really works! Better yet, just don't mind these kinds of people.

Something like that has happened to me a few times and while I would love to give them a verbal what for, I tend to just ignore it. After all they are the ones acting like complete idiots, why stoop to their level?
I would just ignore people like that, they aren't worth your time or attention.

i hate people like this. this happened to me and my wife couple months ago. obviously they were laughing at my wife. coz they would stare at her and laugh. i felt my wife was getting uneasy and all. what i did was take out my phone and took a photo of them. then i told them, "if you don't stop what you're doing -- i'll hunt you down." they turned red. they told me that they weren't doing anything. i didnt talk back. just put my arms around my wife and we silently sat waiting for our stop. they stopped. they had their heads bowed down. my wife told me i was MEAN. but then again, so were they. my wife, though, she taught what i did was mean -- had this smile on her face. the look that says, "i'm safe with you."

I always carry something to read. I would have read and ignored them. They may have been talking about 'personal' things and wanted to see if you were listening.

I tend to do my best to ignore people like that - find something to read, pretend to clean my purse, or just look out the window. I too would be happy to see them get off first.

Stare back at them - thats what I would do. I'm sure they would feel embarrassed if you did that LOL

It is a very uncomfortable feeling when people are staring at you. You do not know what they are thinking or planning in their little minds. If it were me, I would have probably asked if I could help them with something.
What you did was great though. It is a good idea to try to bear the rudeness of strangers as much as you possibly can. Just be glad if you never have to see them again in this life.

Sometimes some people would stare at me while in the public transportation or while I am walking. What I do is, I also stare at them ( who the hell are they to stare at me like that). I notice that when I stare back at them they shift their attention away from me.

People stare at me all the time. Not sure why.
I often just stare back like you did, but I've learned to bring a book with me and read it when I go someplace. Many times people just want a reaction, esp. teenagers, so I don't give them one.

Hmmm... they were rude to you... I guess, you were diplomat enough to just smile...
Anyways, if i were you, I would have looked at them from head to toe and jerk my head with an annoying smile... :D Whew, that's the bi*tchy me. :D

It did, but that was a long time ago. I don't know if anyone would still have the guts to do that against a hulking guy like me, for I'll pounce them and tear them to bits!;)LoL
What you've just experienced is one thing that I know I would never allow to happen to me (again), for it is insulting. If in case they would say that it wasn't me they're laughing or talking about, then I'd surely ask them why look at me and laugh or they could be a bunch of mentally retarded people who broke out of the institution, for them to do that.

If they are younger then have a staring competition :-) If they are older leave them alone. If they are of my age speak to them why they do that.
Since it's not sure why they did that let us supppose they stared at you cos you are beautiful and they were admiring your beauty.

I would do one of two things in this situation - I would either blow them a kiss - or make the sign of the cross - :)
when I was 8 years old I was made so humiliated - I was at an E.R. waiting room waiting for my father to come out of exam, we were traveling together making a trip between states visiting his brother, it was only he and I....
I was very shy and did not generally like to make eye contact with people. there was no where to look and nothing to look at - so I made my eyes go out of focus and just stared into space - kind of like a meditation trance type thing -
well all at a sudden a stern looking woman gets into my face and says it is not polite to stare, little girl.
wow. if I had been staring at her my eyes would have been following her around - but they were not because I was not staring at her.
she said it so loud and got everyone's attention on me, or at least that is how it seemed in my child's mind.

If it happened to me I would give them a compliment like - I just love the way you style your hair or those are the cutest shoes, where did you get them? Something small - I may even do something nice for them - hold the door open for them, something like that.
My mom always told me that going out of your way to be nice to someone who isn't so nice to you is the best revenge.

One time i was in walmarts customer service line and there was this girl who looked like 14 (she had to be older b/c she had a tattoo on her back) and she just turned and gave me a dirty a** look so i gave her one back and in a much worse way my fiance laughed at me and said what are you doing i said she gave me a look first and im not just going to sit here and let some b*tch i dont even know give me a dirty look b/c she thinks im better than her LOL so I just keep staring her down and she stoped looking at me. It was funny but childish at the same time. but i had fun LOL

Well, if I am the one who experienced that I will just ignore it. I won't let these girls ruin my day. If they done nasty things to me, surely there is a karma.
