I just cut my US Cellular cell plan WAY back. I had 3 lines, with 2100 minutes. Unlimited mobile to mobile, and unlimited incoming, plus 250 outgoing texting on 2 lines. Insurance on one line, unlimited internet (easyedge). I was paying nearly 200 a month!!! That was rediculous.
I looked at the plans online,, had my husband see how much outgoing calls he had, (150 min).. our usage was 394 outgoing minutes.... we're allowed 2100.... I cut it back to 700 minutes, got rid of the easy edge, added family unlimited texting instead of the 250 on 2 lines.... Anyway, my new cell bill will only be 106$.... That's an extra 100 a month for other bills.
With gas and everything going up up up up..... I had to do something. Cut out the unnecessary... The cells are necessary, but the extra stuff wasn't.
Why the texting well... I can text my kids and let them know I need something from the store, and stuff and not waste a call, even though we still have unlimited incoming and free mobile to mobile, but also, we live about 4 miles from town, on lousy roads,,,, and my husband's business phone is his cell, as is mine. (He's a massage therapist, and I'm an equine massage therapist.... he works on people I work on horses).... So we're usually away from the house working on clients.
Anyway.. to my question.... How many people out there have actually looked into their cell plans and found they could cut their plan back because they don't use as much as they thought they would????I'm glad I did... just should have done it a LONG time ago..

I just did this same thing not to long ago... isn't it ridiculous how much we spend on Cellular devices! LOL We also have five lines... and unlimeted family texting.
we have 1400 minutes but we have 8000 rollover minutes... so I need to just cut our minutes back a few... like 700... my phone is up for renewal... think I will go in and get me anew phone... and change our plan... AGAIN..
Now if they would just come up with family interent... i would be stoked!!

We don't have rollover minutes, but we can change our plan any time we want to. We don't have to wait for our renewal. We can also switch phones anytime we want, as long as we pay full price for the phone. Some of the other carriers I know have better deals, but we're limited to Alltel or US Cellular where we live... (boonies)... all the good ones aren't around here.
Thanks for the post!!
