Can you sing?

I was just singing along to a myspace profile song, Bubbly. I have been told that that song reminds people of me. Can you sing? I think I can sing okay. I am not Nashville material but I can carry a tune. I have a high pitched voice. I sing karoke. Love karoke. I sing to my daughter but so does my mother who cannot carry a tune whatsoever. She is tone deaf and it's not just me who says that. Is there any mylotters out there who can sing really well? I have a few friends who are really good singers. One is a lead singer of a band. We all go to the bar together and sing karoke on Friday nights.

I love to sing and, a while back, I was led to join SingSnap by another MyLot friend. I have never been much into Karaoke but I did have fun with this (and one or two others): http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/aededf02

I ought to say that I have been singing for maybe 60 years or more. I was a member of an English folk music group (non-professional) for 40 years, so I have a little experience. I guess that I can say that I would be a better singer if I had built more on my natural talent!

I wish I could, but don't think I can. My mother in-law says I have a mom voice. Basically nothing really special but its soothing qhen I sing lullabies to my baby. Even if I did have a decent voice, which I don't think I do, I know I can't hold a note.

A mom voice doesn't sound all that bad. My grandma used to sing mama, don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys all the time when I was little.

I am so sorry that happened. It's so sad and just awful. I am happy that you are okey though. I hate that it hurts to sing thoughh since it sounds like you got a lot of joy from singing.

Yes, that is true. It's really about how well you sound.

I have been singing since I was in High School. I owned and operatred my own Karaoke in Canada for 1o years so had to know alot of songs. I have a huge repetoire of songs and I can sing anything from country, blues, rock, and roll you name it. I am told I sing well, but I still think I need improvement. I like to sing, but it's not a passion of mine. I would prefer singing in a band over Karaoke.

Well, I am the lead singer of a hard rock/punk band and have been for many years. Now I know that doesn't sound to great singing wise because punk rock is not full of the greatest vocalist, but I'm different. Though I do sing raspy and loud most of the time, when it comes down to it, I can sing. My idols singing wise are men like Freddy Mercury of Queen, Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, and the list goes on. So yes I can sing, quite well form what I've been told. I started to take vocal lessons three years ago, so hopefully, my voice has improved.

You have your own band! Whoa! My mom loved Queen. I really like Jim Morrison. I know that isn't really punk but can you sing his songs? There is this guy in vegas, he has a profile on myspace, that looks and sings just like Morrison. It's weird.

Hello just2crazygirlz,
Can I sing? Certainly, I can. Do I sing in public or for others? NO, not at all. I only sing for my partner. I don’t know if my singing is ok as per normal standards but my wife likes it and that’s enough for me. My intended audience is happy, that’s what matters, doesn’t it?

Being the music lover that I am, just2, I sing quite a bit around the house. My voice used to be very nice. I often received compliments on my singing. My children always remember how I used to go around the house singing when they were growing up. Now that I live alone I don't sing as much, but I do still love to sing.

I like to sing....sing all the time without even knowing that I am doing it and they say I have a very good voice. I used to sing in choirs but now just do it for fun. I also liked to do karoke with my friends and it didn't really matter if we did it right or not.....because we were doing it just for the fun of it..but one of my friends couldn't carry a tune in a bucket!

Yes, karoke is the greatest. I love it. I used to say that I would never do it. Then it was I'll never sing by myself. Now I do it all. I don't care if they like my voice or not.

I am a horrible singer. I am bad! I can not carry a tune. I make William Hung sound good. LOL But I do like to sing... i just can not carry a tune. Oh well, i guess there are worse things in life than not being a good singer. I should face the face that if i ever tried out for american idol, i would never make it hollywood.

I can dance also. I love to dance. I actually considered going to school for choreography. At the bar I go to, singing and dancing go hand in hand. LOL.

O I don't think I want everyone to hear me online. LOL. It's one thing to be drunk and singing in front of people but to do it sober!

I can sing. I am a high soprano, and I suspect that I might be a coloratura, because when I sing in the choir, I can sing along whose twills and glorias quite well. I plan to sing a solo at the next Spring concert, but I do not have a piano just a spinet so I cannot play the accompaniment, I have to have a friend do it on the church piano.
I am a classical singer, not a popular singer.

No I can't and I won't even sing "Happy Birthday" unless its in a group that I know real well. Otherwise I'll lip sync it. I sing when I'm by myself, but then again I'll dance when no one is looking and think I'm a solid gold dancer. LOL.

I don't think I can sing that great, and by no means would I ever try out for American Idol. My husband seems to think I sing ok but he might just be saying that. He for sure can't carry a tune in a bucket. As for the song 'Bubbly' yeah I love it and play it over and over and sing along cause it's so catchy and realistic.

Hi Again!
We have a lot in common. Bubbly is my ringtone on my cellphone! (I am more shy than bubbly though) I just love her voice. Have you heard her other music? Colbie Cailatt. Hope I've spelled it right.
I also love to sing (I'm not Idol material by any means) but I'm not dog-howling material either! :))
I don't do karaoke too often. I'm married, and my hubby isn't into going out too much. But when I do, I love it.
My favorite songs to sing are "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree," "Some Days You Gotta Dance," etc. I usually don't sing more than 3 songs anyway.
I would love to hear about other married women who enjoy karaoke. :)
Have a great day!

Dont mean to brag, but I think I sing pretty good. I've been a choir member since grade school. And I think that helped me a lot. Cause I've been through breathing exercises and all that. I've sung in 5 weddings and 2 christenings. I love singing. music will always be a part of my being. Right now i'm trying to learn how to play the guitar.. so that i could play and sing my songs..
