One of my cats is missing. She likes to go outside. Everyone in my neighborhood knows that shes my cat when she does go outside. She love to feel the sun on her fur. She don't fo nofurther then next door(which is one house down on both sides)But if my kids are outside or when we go to walk the dogs she'll trail right beyond us. Everytime I open the door and call her name she comes running. But not this time. She's nowhere to be find. I hope nothing bad has happened to her I already feel real bad. I feel its my fault because I let her go outside. My hubby is always telling me you got her from outside that is why she like being outside. But I thought that I'll be able to change her and make her a house cat. But I guess I was wrong!!!!??! I hope she'll come back. She's been gone for 24 hours now.

It is a sad thing when cats go missing. My oldest cat got out one night and we couldn't find her. She never had been outside all night long before. I was really worried for her because it just wasn't like her to not come inside before we go to bed. But she showed up the next afternoon and I was relieved.
Don't give up hope for your cat yet. 24 hours really isn't that long for a cat to be gone. Honestly. I had a cat that would go for a week or two at a time and then show back up. He did his own thing.
On that note...is your cat fixed. If she is in heat she may not come back until she has mated or she goes out of heat. (Sorry to say the mating usually happens first). Also have you checked all the trees around the area just to make sure she is not stuck in one. it has happened to one of my cats. I suggest quietly walking around when there are no distractions to listen for a cry. Scan the trees and any holes she may have fallen into. Cats are very curious (I am sure you know this lol) and can easily find trouble. Have there been any strange cats around the area lately? I would ask your neighbors if they have seen any strange animal around.
I don't want this to sound bad or make you too worried...but I would make sure to check the roads around the area and the areas to the sides of the road. If she was hit by a car she might have went off the side of the road to a ditch or wooded area for shelter.
As for outside cats...I believe once they get the taste of the outside then they are outside cats permanently. It is hard to bring them back in. I know I feel so bad when I make my cats stay inside. And outside cats have many risks that inside cats do not have. The life of an outside cat is a dangerous one. I have had plenty of cats in my lifetime and they have all been outside/inside cats.

thank you for responsing. And yes she is fixed, thats why I thought if she is fixed she'll want to stay in the house. But I was wrong once again. And I have noticed one cat who I call Morris9because he looks just like him)that have been hanging around my home latly. I thought it was because he knows that I feed my cat and sometimes leave water and food on the porch for her especiall whn i leave for a period of 2 or mores hours from home. But know that you who have soaid something about I noticed he wasn't around neither. I think I'm going to call the shelter tomorrow and see if anyone brought in a brown faced siamese cat
thank you again

I know how you feel. When one of my pets is missing, I actually panic. Evrything else goes on hold. If you made her or him a housecat, then you would feel bad that you don't let her out. Please excuse me for practicing my religion....Dear Creator, I don't usually beg and before I go any further I want to thank you for giving me the power to choose so many things that affect my life. You are awsome to ignore my dumb stuff, but I beg you to watch over hardworkingwomans cat. I turn my heart and my thoughts to you and I understand that your will be done first, but you do understand that sometimes I don't think it's fair, but this woman loves her cat like I love my pets. Please keep her safe and return her home Creator. Thank you for all your grace and blessings. Amen

My prayers for you and I hope she returns home safely. If she does, maybe you can work on getting her to stay indoors. If she has a tag, maybe some kind person will make sure she gets back to you. I have two cats that are strictly indoor pets, and have never been outdoors, so I'm sure it's more difficult to take a stray and train it to be an indoor pet. Good luck and God bless.

I'm so sorry to hear that your kitty still hasn't shown back up yet. I have gone through the exact same thing and completely understand how difficult it is not knowing where they are. When I was much younger, I had a cat who was indoor/outdoor. She would typically go out for a little while during the day, but would always show back up again before bedtime. Unfortunately though one evening, she didn't come back home. She was gone the whole weekend and I thought for sure I'd never see her again. I came home from school Monday of the following week to find that my cat had reappeared. Come to find out that our neighbors had gone out of town over the weekend and she'd gotten trapped in their garage and couldn't get out till they got back home.
Keep the faith that kitty will show back up again. It could be that she just got the urge to roam a bit further than usual and hasn't quite gotten it out of her system yet. I'll say a little prayer that she shows up safely and soon. *hugs*

My cat used to do that, at first I really worried about her, then suddenly she would show back up. Sometimes I think they get distracted with all the things cats like to do and they come home when they are hungry.
I hope your cat comes home, don't give up on her yet. My sister's cat is a house cat and once she slipped out and was gone for a week before she showed back up.

I know how you feel. I've had an outdoor cat that went missing and has never returned. I guess he felt jealous of the new kittens and my other cat Spot kept scratching him during mealtimes. I guess he felt unwanted. But cats have a good sense of direction and it might be possible that your cat is just around the neighborhood. Don't worry, she will turn up. My other cat did but he no longer wants to stay at my garage. He is now one of the stray cats in my neighborhood and no longer trusts me when I offer him food. :(

I felt very sad about this news, but want to tell you that you should still keep looking outside for her. If that doesn't work, go to the animal shelter. There's a chance that your cat may have been picked up and taken there.
When my Leo was alive, he ran out the door every time it was open, and finally he was out for two weeks. I looked for him every day and then assumed that someone had taken him in and decided to keep him. But I was told to visit the shelter and look for him. Well, turns out that he was there! When Leo heard my voice, he flopped his big body on the cage floor and stuck out a paw through the bars. Naturally, I had to pay a princely sum for his food and upkeep. But the important thing was that I got him back.
Good luck in finding your cat. I hope that she either returns home or you manage to find her in a shelter.

Ah, I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. I had one of my girls go missing years back, and to this day, I still have dreams where I she comes home and I wake up thinking she really has returned. Sometimes I even think I hear her or see her out of the corner of my eye. I really hope she comes home to you soon. :)

Oh honey!! I'm so sorry!! You're going through a hell of a time and boy do I know how you feel!! We had a siamese blue point cat that believe it or not, couldn't find his way out of a paper bag. He was a sweet ole thing but being a cat, he should know for their instincts are into hunting but he didn't. His name was Sandman. He got lost one day and was gone for a week. Hubby and I put up flyers everywhere and finally someone called and told us where to find him and luckily he came to us when we called and called him.
Another time, another blue point siamese Bobo, he left me for 18 days straight! I thought I'd lose my mind trying to find him!! I went EVERYWHERE that my car would fit in and called till my voice was hoarse and still no Bobo. Finally one day he's comes a waltzing in like he's never been gone and he slept in my lap for hours and hours like a newborn baby.
Another time, my seal point siamese got lost and was gone for a week and finally she came home.
My point is, go look for her, call her. She could be locked up somewhere and nobody knows she's locked inside of their garage or shed (Bobo was locked up in our neighbors big shed for about three days). I hate to say this too but she could very well be hurt and is trying to come home.
None of my other cats have done that but if they did, I'd do anything and everything to find them. It's NOT your fault one bit!! Please get past that darn little devil in your ear telling you that it's your fault because it's NOT. Your cat was an outdoor cat to begin with and to make it an indoor one would be cruel because she knows the outdoors and obviously loves it so let her be happy doing what she loves however bring her in at night so she'll be safe. I know she'll be home. Keep your faith and believe because she will be back. We don't know when but keep praying and I will too.

That is very sad and I had that happen today too. My cat loves the outside. But we have a roaming dog in our neighborhood. He attacked my cat early this morning. But you should put some of her favorite items or smells out. If she like milk put it out. Put some food out. She will end up coming back because she loves you. Cats are very smart and can find their way back. Good luck and she will come back.

I really hope your cat comes back, its a horrible feeling when they go missing and you dont know where they are. My cat went missing a few weeks ago and he still hasnt come back, he loved being outside but never went very far, he would usually be in the shed in the garden. He went out as normal a few saturdays ago and he never came back, I know something has happened to him because like I say he would never go very far, but I just dont know what. We have asked about, been to the vets, searched our garden from top to bottom and all the neighbours gardens and he is nowhere. I just wish I could know what happened.
