If you haven't watched it, try it out since its fairly interesting.
Given that if you turn into a vampire and never die, what age would you like to be turned into a vampire so that you'd look like that for the rest of your existence?
In the movie, the little girl wanted so bad to grow more woman-like but never will since she was turned into a vampire at an age so young.
How about you? Would you like to still look young or be at the peak of your youth when you turn into a vampire?
Aside from the troubling fact that you need to drink blood, what do you think of advantages of being a vampire?

This is one of my favorite Vampire movies :) and I do like the series of books as well.
I'm not sure what age I'd want to be if turned into a vampire. Of course depending on which legend you go by depends on the vampire you might be but I think I'd go for somewhere around my early twenties. Physically I was at my best then so would want to have it then. I think there could be numerous advantages and disadvantages to being a vampire, but again it goes by the legend you go with or if you go strictly by the Hollywood versions of it. Traditional legends vampires could go out during the day, they are just weaker then they are at night and intense sunlight they can be sensitive too but it doesn't kill them. I think over all the advantageous could outweigh the disadvantages, at least in my opinion. Being able to see the changes humanity makes, not having to worry about being hurt physically by things as a general rule, not having to worry about sickness, those can all be great things. To me having to drink blood would be a minor problem.

Not sure if it has to be fresh but many of the legends speak of them feeding on animals as well as humans so you'd have the choice. Most even indicate you don't have to kill in order to survive, just feed a small amount. So that would work for me.

I see that I should prescribe to that traditional legend about vampires
All you stated are quite convincing to become one. Though, if you get the hang of drinking blood, I'd probably go to a blood bank but, are those blood good or it really has to come fresh...?
Thank you for responding to this discussion of mine

well vampires do not grow old right? i would want to be at around age 22 if i am to be stuck at that age...
but the thing about being a vampire is that they cannot go outside and enjoy the sun, beaches, daylight. that would be really boring... :( hehe

But as emeraldisle states, "Of course depending on which legend you go by depends on the vampire you might be" and "Traditional legends vampires could go out during the day, they are just weaker then they are at night and intense sunlight they can be sensitive too but it doesn't kill them."
So you could still enjoy sunshine every once in a while even if your a vampire

Well the advantages would obviously be....
1.to never grow old.
2.to never get sick or ill.
3.to have everlasting life.
disadvantages would be....
1.Living forever without end or relief from life.
2.Seeing all your friends or family grow old and die.
3.Having to drink the blood of mammals to sustain.

1) I have not seen the movie.
2) Give a choice of age I would pick
age 40.
3) The distinct advantage of being a vampire is
the facility of flight.

Well, that is if your still human to comprehend human thinking which would also value age among physical attributes. Some people would want to look old while others don't like to look old, even though they already are.
Once your a vampire, would you still be human?

advantages. nice teeth. you won't get too fat for any of your clothes. nice skin. no need for wrinkle cream. any of the more paranormal bits, like flight, telekenisis and mind reading would be pretty handy.
I'd be bothered by not being able to go to music festivals. long lazy summer evenings. food. there's lots of things to miss. outliving everyone you love.
