Digital TV

What do you think of the latest in which the government is making everyone have digital TV by Feb. 2008? What are the pros and cons of it?

It if by February 2009 but you don't have to have a digital tv if you have your tvs hooked up to cable or satelite if you don't have a digital tv and aren't hooked up to those things you will have to buy a converter box they sell them at Walmart for $49.88 where I live. I think the pro of it is that the picture quality on tvs is so much better and so much better to wacth the con is some people can't afford the $49.88 to buy a converter box.

I agree with you that the picture quality will be better and the way I understand is that you will recieve some extra channels that are free, but if you can't afford the converter box then you will be stuck watching nothing.Which is not fair to some. Thank you for responding.
