Well we are back
Gissi is actually not to mad at me lol
Both Dew Claws have been trimmed, the one in the left Paw though had grown in a lot the other was just starting to grow in
They also emtied the swollen Anal Glance as that was creating again which I knew and asked the to see to it
The only thing that did scare me a bit was that the Vet wanted to do a Heart scan and that on Gissi, because his heart was beating fast and also his cough
The Nurse said not to worry about it as Gissi was panicking a lot
They had sent me out as I was close to tears when they they where trying to put the Mussle on him and also the Vet said that Gissi might calm if I am not there
Well the little Fellow was so happy to see me back after he was done he was not even mad at me
The Nurse told me not to worry that it was just panic
Also I had Gissi checked on that 2 years ago and they listened to his heart and said it was fine
I mean I can save the Money up as it will cost £150-£200 ($300-$400) but there has never been any sign of Gissi having Heart Problems and even the Nurse says if there was signs then ok, but there isn't
The Vet was a young Vet, very good with Pets but I think the Nurse was trying to say that he seems a bit to eager at times
So now my little Boy is sleeping as he had to have an Injection and he starts a course of Tablets on Thursday

Aaaaw! Sounds like your poor little guy had quite a traumatic experience at the vet. I know I've had my share of stressful experiences at the vet with loved ones over the years. Sometimes I feel I handle stuff worse than the fur-babies do.
I had a cat who several years ago had some pretty sever medical issues and needed emergency surgery and an extended hospital stay following. I went to visit him every single day he was in. The poor guy actually went through some depression from everything they had to put him through to get him healthy again. When I'd go in to visit, he would barely move or even lift his head off the table the whole time I was there. Thankfully he seemed to come out of the depression pretty quickly after he came home.
I'm so glad Gissi isn't holding a grudge for his visit. I'm sure you'll be giving some extra snuggles and love for a while to make sure you are all made up--just to be sure, of course. *hugs*

Big hugs back atcha! :-) I've always thought that just because they have four legs and can't speak our language doesn't mean they don't have the same feelings we do. It's us humans who aren't smart enough to figure out what they're trying to tell us. lol Give that Gissi a huge hug for me. :-)

I think the nurse was saying that he is fine for you not to worry, she can't make those decisions she didn't train as a vet and it is always better to prevent rather than cure a problem after it has gone on for a while, the vet probably was doing that as a safety precaution and I would rather have somebody like him treat my animals then somebody that is lazy and doesn't and then later on find out my animal had a problem that could have been corrected a long time ago

Yes I agree but it is a lot of money to pay out when there has never been any signs for Gissi to have these Problems and if there was I would be the first to get it done and until then I am not going to pay that sort of money out as on Benefits I can't afford to
Gissi is fit and fine and if I ever see any change in that I will get him seen to
He has no problem Winter because he was checked on it last Year and he is no different now

yes but you did not mention it was a question of money, that is why you are not doing it at this time, your story reads like you think the nurse knows more than the vet and so that is why I responded the way I did, if it is a question of money, I wouldn't have done it either as I do not have money to spare either.

Glad to hear Gissi is back home and doing good. I bet his anal glands were another cause for the pain he was in besides the dewclaw. I had a dog that needed them expressed couple times a year. After doing it the first time, I said to heck with it and paid the vet to do the stinky job.

I am so glad that Gissi is doing better after his visit to the vet. Those visits can be pretty trying on a pet. Glad to hear no heart problems. Sorry it has taken me so long to get to all of these posts, I am just falling behind!

Oh I am so relieved that our boy is doing ok! I've been so worried about both of you in this hon. I'm glad the vet took good care of Gissi, otherwise I would have had to find an airline ticket to make my way there and kick his (vet's) butt! LOL! Thank you for posting the update hon. I haven't read your other ones yet. I saw this one and headed straight here. Love you, and lots of love and snuggles to Gissi too.

Awwww - poor little Gissi; he came through it all though, and now he just needs to take his tablets and get better. You held up well too gabs, having to leave him with the vet and the nurse; he probably did calm down once you were out of the room - they are like kids who always try to play up their parents!
I'm sure he will get tender loving care from you to aid his recovery! Then he will be up to his tricks again. Can't keep a good dog down they say, lol!

Good for Gissi, and for you, gabs! I can imagine what an ordeal it must have been for the both of you. I know that I panic when I have to see the doctor because it can be very stressful. I'm just happy that everything went well and Gissi is now going to get the treatment he needs. [smiles]

Aww--I'm so glad Gissi is okay now...yes, probably the vet was a bit overanxious himself wanting to do a heart scan but I guess he just wanted to make sure everything was covered and done for him and not leave anything out, but glad he didn't need it. oh, just bet Gissi is going to love getting tablets..NOT...LOL. I know what a struggle it is to give my babies medicine, so I don't envy you. Give an extra hug from Auntie Pye, and my two kitties are happy too that Gissi is now on the mend

Petie, Sammy, Abagail and I are so gald that Gissi will be fine. I would not do a heart check on Gissi if I could not afford it. I understand that you want the best for your little fellow but he has no history of heart problems.
I did not get Abagail's hernia fixed becuse it would cost to much. she is doing fine with out if fixed. I hope her bowels do not get incarserated in the hernia.
Good luck getting Gissi to take his tablets.
Love ya and take care.

Gabs,
I am so happy to hear that Gissi is alright...I have been praying for him and for you...the power of prayer does most certainly works...it sounds like they handled Gissi in a very delicate way...the muzzle would have been difficult for me to have watched as well...the anxiety for poor Gissi was normal however in no way does that deminish what he was feeling...
I am glad that you were able to get him there and taken care of, hun...I know how much you love him!!
Love and Hugs,
Tina

That's wonderful news gabs! I'm so glad he's ok and resting. One can never be too careful with their pets/loved ones. You're such a good mommy to him, that's why he loves you so much!
