How Is 2008 Treating You?

I was just wondering how 2008 was treating everyone so far as it sure hasn't started out very good for me and my family and I am hoping it gets better soon! It actually did start out not too bad, as we went on a cruise for my birthday on the 3rd to the 7th of January, but the day after we got back my hubby got the flu which turned in to pnemonia and then a week after that he fell and hurt his ankle really bad. He has been on crutches for the past two weeks. Both my sons have relationships that fell apart, but things are looking up for the younger one as it looks like he is going to get a chance to produce music with his group, so things are looking up for him. What about you peeps, how is this new year treating you so far?

Our 2008 has not had a very good start. My husband lost his job. Our 10 year old daughter is in the hospital. We have no insurance. She is going to need iv antibiotics for atleast 6 weeks. The medicine is going to cost 100.00 a day. The hospital can not release her since no infusion company will supply us with no insurance. So hopefully this year will start improving soon.

Really sorry to hear that lightningMD and I will pray that your daughter gets better soon. I don't have health insurance either...they won't give it to me because I am diabetic and have glaucoma, so I understand how expensive medical bills can be. Hopefully the new Presidential administration will follow up on their promises about healthcare for kids and preexisting diseases and make it more affordable for everyone, but that's still a long time away.

Well to be honest enough, I woluld like to say that the new year is proved good for me. I am a college student and my first examinations of this year went very good. I easily cleared them resulting 80 percecnt. Also, my pocket money is increased this year by 40 percent. But I think this year has not been so lucky for my family. My Uncle had an accident on 14th January. His car got banged by a bus. He was not injured badly but remained haspitalized for around one week. He had around five to six stiches in his right hand. My freind also is not happy with this year. His bike has got stolen and he has not been able to find it yet. He bought that bike just around four months ago, so it was a brand new bike not having even a single scratch. He is very depressed from this incident as he waited almost for a year to collect the money for that bike. He has registered the case in the police station too but they also have not done anything about his bike. They are saying that it will take some time to find his bike deliver it to him!
If you ask me, I think this is year is unlucky for many peoople. I have heard many people saying that they have not expected 2008 to be like this. But at the same time many people are very happy in this new year. My cousine sister is very happy too. Her marriage is finally arranged to the guy she loves. She is very happy and feels the that this year is proven best for her as she wst rying to convince her parents from the past one year. Her marriage is in April and I wish her best of luck for her married life!
According to me, my new year has been good so far, hope this continues!
