Hi fengxg22, welcome to mylot. I like to learn more about china. I would like to know the latest situation about the snow disaster occurred recently. Today is the 7th day of the Chinese lunar calendar and it is also the birthday of all human being (renji). We Chinese in Malaysia celebrate this day by taking fish slices mixing with various types of cut veggies and sauces. The well decorated big dish is placed in the middle of a round table surrounded with members of the family. We stir the colorful and delicious stuff vigorously with chopsticks and say some wishes in the meantime. Hopping that this would bring good fortune to every participant. Happy birthday my dear friend and have good fortune as well.
I like to make friends from different places and enjoy the life of community here. I do have some friends here from china and they are really helpful and enthusiastic. Earlier I had a friend similar to you, using feng as his first character of his username, but he had been inactive for quite some time because he was most probably busy preparing for his final exam.
Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

Hi fengxg, you are most welcome. Yeah, I am a Malaysian Chinese. My husband and I had visited Shangdong few years back. The places impressed me most were Taishan and the country of Confucius. I am here also to improve my English. I find mylot is a best place for us to learn English. My dear friend, I can understand what you are trying to tell me, so keep on mylotting and this definitely will help you to improve your English.
I am glad to learn from you that the situation of the snow disaster has become better. Those people affected could resume their normal living again. Well, men should help one another when encounter any hardship, it doesn’t matter what nationalities they belong to.
I always try to respond at least 10 discussions daily, hopping that this could upgrade my language. Besides I do find lots of fun to chat with friends here and acquire knowledge from them. Sometimes I do find difficulty in expressing my feeling and opinion as my English is still not good enough.
Happy Chinese New Year.

Welcome to ourLot. Your English is not poor. Your good intension to learn and interact is very clear.
India and China both are well populated and both have good cultures.
India and China both ends with 'a'.
Happy to be with all good people

I would love to learn the Chinese language, but it looks like it would be a difficult language to learn.

Guy, Remember to never say "my english is poor" before foreigners especially the native english speakers. I am a chinese too and I just want to tell you they don't like to see such words as we do. You may say "My english still has some problems but it's getting better."
Good luck
