My Roommate Vs. The Mouse

We have had a mouse in the apartment and today the mouse ran into my one roommates foot when she walked into the kitchen, making her freak out. She messages me asking me to pick up something to deal with the mouse. You'd think this would be easy, but she wants something that won't kill it.
She's a vegetarian.
Thing is, this mouse has been around for a while, I've just been dealing with it, because she wants a no kill way to deal with it. But I can't find that type of thing anywhere. I've told her that it would be so much easier to just snap kill it or something. (Cruel I know, but it won't leave) So now she is trying to concoct somewhere to catch it and take it out a mile and release it.
Oh, she also doesn't have a car, so that means I get to drive it and take it out. In this homemade thing she has of catching it. Needless to say, I'm not in on this.
Am I just being cruel? I am just tired of trying to please her and I give up. She can deal with it the way she wants to.

Defintely kill it without her knowing. Of course I'm someone who is terrified of them. I went to pick up a shoe that was behind my couch a few months ago and one came running out of that shoe. I screamed so loud I'm surprised I didn't wake my husband up.

She is talking all these ideas of catching it with peppermint oil or something... I think she just has unrealistic thoughts of everything. She's a bit of a upper class girl who doesn't understand the ways of real life.
She also told me that I shouldn't keep excess potatoes and onions on the rack in the cupboard, because that is probably what is attracting the mouse.

Kill it when she's not around. If she asks, say you haven't seen it around and maybe it went elsewhere. She'll get over it.

"There's a Mouse Loose in the House!"
In continuation to my last response (which I posted after another response someone gave you), the quoted title is the one I noted about. This kind man had mice in his house. He put out these mouse traps, adn successfully caught 3 (when he thought there was only 1). And they were humane traps, which he used to catch and then release outdoors.
