behind the cockroach's secret

Too many peopel are faraid of cockroaches, not only females but also our very strong and pride males. Why does a mere cockroach have such power over humans? What are the secret behind its power?

Its because they look scary and come out of the dark to scare the HEll out of you!! LOL!! I used to live in Arizona and they had cockroaches everywhere. We had a huge back patio. I remember at night I would turn the light on to let the dogs out and the whole porch would go from black to white!! EWWW!!
