I think that the best places to visit in the US are the ones that aren't really tourist attractions. Then you truly get to see the US. My husband and I traval all over the state of Georgia and there are soooo many beautiful places that no one really knows about. You can check out our travels on my blogs (complete with lots of pics). The addresses are http://ridetheworldover.blogspot.com and http://seanandandiestravel.blogspot.com
Another place that I really love visiting is the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. It's truly amazing. Also the beaches of SC (like Folly Beach) are great and Newport, Rhode Island is breathtaking. But then again, I'm always the one that goes to out of the way places.

Now if you want to know which top tour sites to visit in the states - I suggest San Diego California - there are more tourists here that walk around the city of Downtown - a mixture of japanese, african, chinese even filipinos. Even up in Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles which is near Beverly Hills is also a great place to tour. Hollywood to be exact.
Now of course touring in New York is a good one too - only thing is getting used to the type of people there. Some people there are not nice, some tough but then again you'll come across people that are polite. New York City, Time Squares, Manhattan also touring to see the Statue of Liberty. And another to tour around is Miami Florida - for one it's the fun spot, paradise to have fun and party.
But if you do ever visit San Diego - let me know I wouldn't mind touring you around here.

Whoa really! That's cool - I didn't know you ever been here before. But I've lived here most of my life. When you coming down again to the states? I might just spot you. We all cool to hang out - for real!

Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida was just picked as the top tourist attraction in the USA. I have never been there, but one day I will make the trip.
New York always has lots of things to see. Times Square, The Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, Broadway, Central Park is beautiful in the daylight, Boat Tours around the city, and of course, shopping.
Chicago, my hometown, also has Boat Tours, The Magnificent Mile if you like to shop.
I visited my brother in Seattle. There are several places to see there. Especially the mountains, in particular, Mt. Rainier. It is so awesome when the sky is clear. The Space Needle was awesome. There is a fish market that we spent hours at just watching the guys work . They were quite entertaining!
Going west just to see the mountains is a beautiful experience. Colorado, Nevada, California.
Take your pick, as there are many places in my country to visit and you won't be dissappointed!!
PEACE

Depends on what you intend.
The best spot I think is the one that makes you feel better.
I take the camera with me, with a few photos and a few words can be made a nice PowerPoint file.
