Have you ever kissed someone who kissed you back like a suckerfish? You know the kind... they keep their lips pressed up against yours, they suck with them, and when you try to pull your head back for a moment, you can't. Why? Because they're still there... sucking your lips!
I had heard about suckerfish kissers before, but never really experienced it firsthand until a few months ago. And I have to say, it was a MASSIVE turn off for me. It made me appreciate the good kissers I've had in my life, that's for sure!
Do you think you can teach a suckerfish kisser to kiss better? Do you think there are advantages in other areas? Are you a suckerfish kisser? Have you heard of another name for it? Do you have any tips or funny stories to share about your suckerfish kissing experience?

I haven't yet had the experience of running into a 'suckerfish' kisser. (Granted, I haven't kissed that many people.) I did, however, have an ex who kissed like a horse...
Not that I've kissed a horse, of course. :P I just mean... If you watch a horse eat an apple, how it kind of juts it's jaw around at awkward angles and just sticks it's tongue out at varying points for no apparent reason, without warning... Now -that- is an awkward experience.
In response to your other questions, though, I don't know if anyone could make someone who kisses that way (or the horse way) change. It seems like kissing is a completely personal, individualized thing. Plus, I'm not sure that I could explain how to not kiss in the suckerfish way. I'm sure they aren't entirely aware of the discomfort they're causing.
Beyond that, though, I don't think I could actually come out and say 'excuse me sir, but you kiss like a vacuum.' I'd just grin and suffer through, like I did with Ponyboy.

I've known guys that kiss like that and it is terrible. You end up feeling like half your face is being slobbered on and that pretty much kills the romance part. I think though that if it is a problem you should try to talk to the person without hurting their feelings and help them out...who knows it might be fun to re-teach someone how to kiss.

Rotflmao Oh my gosh I am laughing just reading your post. The image is startling to say the least. Its been quite a while since I have kissed another human other then my husband in a romantic way. I can't say I can recall being suckerkissed however I have had many over zealous boyfriends who thought we females enjoyed having a tongue shoved so far down our throats that they could feel the inside of your lungs. Got to love the gag refex..... Great post Canadag. I missed it earlier. I have now set your notifications to on so I know when you post a new topic. I often for get to do that when I add someone new...

I was surprised to have no replies to it all day. I started wondering if I was the only one who had gone through such trauma. Maybe others have simply chosen to keep similar experiences blocked from their memories? You can't really blame them if that's the case. ;)
Now what you've gone through, with the tongue down the throat thing, I haven't experienced that. I think if a man tried that on me, I would have a very difficult time breathing, and most of my energies would be used in keeping myself from throwing up.

I had one of those once. It was... kind of pathetic. The girl turned out to be a real flake anyway so it was just as well that I wasn't missing out. There were literally like weird noises when a kiss would end from the suction. She was like 24, so you'd think she would have had enough experience to muster a decent kiss, but no luck. I suppose there are probably people who go through their entire lives without learning to be a decent kisser. A rare few are actually pretty good after their first few attempts.

24 is a baby in comparison... this guy was 43 and had already been in 2 long term relationships (5yrs and 7yrs). I have no idea how the other women put up with it for so long. EW!

Luckily, I don't have that chance of a lifetime which I don't want, LOL.
However, I think you should tell it as it is and don't mind that person getting offended because he/she might repeat the same thing to others and it would be kind of embarrassing for them, without realizing it.
