Anyone play Parasite Eve?

I didn't have the chance to play the first one but I thoroughly enjoyed Parasite Eve 2 even with the wave of the PS2 crashing down and the number of PSone games was dwindling at an alarming rate when I bought it. 'What kind of name was Parasite Eve anyway?' That was the question that came when I was browsing through the games section. I remember a friend of mine played the original Parasite Eve. He moved away a few years later, but it was because of him that I became interested in playing video games. It was because of him that this love for playing Parasite Eve begun. So tell me, what's your experience with Parasite Eve?
