Whenever I get a new toothbrush I make sure the old one is clean and stick it under the sink with my cleaning products. When I need a small brush for cleaning in cracks or smaller places I use my old toothbrush. I occasionally use the old one for craft projects too when I need to speckle something with paint...do you find a new use for your old toothbrushes?

we also use them to clean nooks and crannies - especially around the sinks and faucets.
my husband likes them for cleaning out his razors.
I also find them useful at dishes time - to clean between the tines of the forks - sometimes something will get crusty in there and hard to wash out.

I do have a use for my old toothbrushes. I use them to clean under my finger nails when I have some grime under them after I have been cleaning. I also use it to take a little toothpaste and toothbrush and clean my jewelry with it. Toothpaste is very good for cleaning diamonds, makes them shine nicely!

hi jill! ^__^
yeah. i find new uses for my old toothbrushes. it just seems like a waste to throw them away and toothbrushes are mostly plastic so it would be environment-friendly if we recycle them. i use one of my old toothbrushes when cleaning my brassieres. ^__^;; i have lots of underwire brassieres and i don't wash them in the washing/laundry machine because it might tear apart. so i hand wash them and since i can't thoroughly wash them without brushing it and i don't want to use those big scrubs/brushes, i use an old toothbrush. ^__^;;
and then, i also use one of my old toothbrushes when cleaning/polishing my nails. the nail brush got lost so i improvised and use an old toothbrush. now the bristles are all pink. ^__^;;

Oh Jill I do this to, I keep a selection under the sink with my cleaning products but I also keep one with the shoe shine bits as I find it very useful to use on the soles of trainer type shoes to get the mud out. My little one loves muddy puddles bless and always seems to jump in them when wearing shoes with a load of tread in the soles. In fact most things in my home get used for a different purpose after there original use. Clothes that are too worn to go to charity shop usually end up as a painting t-shirt or duster of somesort. Cereal boxes ususally end up in the art box to be glued together by the kids to make a wonderful sculpture of some sort and even the shredded paper goes as extra bedding for the rabbits and guinea pigs. Wow you have a ton of ideas! I will for sure use the one to clean out the tracks of running shoes...my son especially..for the rocks in my driveway get stuck in his and he pits my kitchen floor....so maybe I can convince him to use one to clean off his shoes! And save my tile!

I use my old tooth brushes to clean my jewerly. It works great. In fact on sterling silver I use tooth paste (PASTE not gel) and and tooth brush, it works wonders.

I actually bought a container with 12 toothbrushes for $1 at the dollar store for the purpose of cleaning only! Of course for $1 you know they are the cheap kind plus I use a special brush so would never use them for myself anyway. Other than cleaning I've never come up with another use for them since I don't paint or anything like that.
