If God Did Not Exist, Then What Is the Purpose of Existence?

I know a few people who told me they did not believe in God. Therefore, they do not believe in the existence of Heaven either. So I asked myself, "If this was so, what is the point of being here in the first place?" And why would I even want to do good, or do things to make the world better? What benefit would there be for me? If there's no such thing as punishment in the next life, why would I fear doing evil?

There is really no proof that there is a god but people need things to believe in order to keep them on the path of good. I don't really believe in god but I do believe in that there is a little more to the universe like how it all got here and fate and stuff like that. But it is hard to believe that one man made everything in the world and it only started off with adam and eve. If the world only started off with adam and eve then where did all of the different races of people come from then? If there really is a god and a heaven then why is there so much suffering in the world for then? The bible says things like do onto others what others do onto you and forgive and forget but it also says that the reason why there is so much pain in the world is because of adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit and now the rest of the world has to suffer because of it. But it says to forgive and forget but why isn't god forgiving and forgetting about what adam and eve did when they ate the fruit. If there was a god I wouldn't cry and hurt so much and I wouldn't have so much pain. If there was a god then he wouldn't have taken my daughter away from me when she was only six years old due to a car accident. There isn't a way to proof that god exists but also there isn't a way to proof that he doesn't exist either so I see it as it's something to give people hope if they want something to believe in. If god exists then tell me something good that he has done for you.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. I can't imagine what that would be like. Yes God has done something good to me also. But there are times when I doubt, especially when bad things happen. But like you said, bad things don't prove He doesn't exist. Nor do good things prove that He does exist. So I don't know what to say. I guess belief in God really is a matter of faith than science.

God is Love! not Punishment. Love does not threaten! There is no such thing as Punishment in the next life. God does not threaten with hellfire and pergatory. Its the Catholic Church that threatens you. The church does this because they want your Money. Its not about God, or Heaven its all about MONEY.
