What should Romney do? Should he have even suspended his campaign?

So now what? Gov Romney has officially suspended his campaign. that isn't to say that he has drooped out completely. Suspending his campaign means he still controls his delegates, unlike Thompson and Guiliani who dropped their bids and gave up control of their delegates.
First and foremost, I don't think Romney should have suspended his campaign "for the good of the party." The party is in shambles as evident by McCain's dominant lead in the primaries. Our party needed to unite behind someone who is conservative enough, but also fiscally responsible and earnest. While I'm not sure Romney would have been the answer, I think he would have been a great asset and I would have like to have seen him elected.
Secondly, I think Romney needs to keep his campaign suspended until the convention unless he can get his delegates to pledge to Gov. Huckabee. By holding his delegates, he makes McCain have to work to reach the 1.191 on his own. If he drops completely, I believe, unfortunately, the majority of his delegates would go to McCain.

To me it was wierd that Romney suspend his campaign so quick. He spent alot of money and had alot of delegates to go with that. I know that McCain did have a lead, but I wish that he had stayed in the race so us conservatives would still have a shot at winning. Huckabee cannot stop McCain, he is just a southern candidate.
