My Daughter is pregnant

Well I have 2 grandsons and a step granddaughter from my daughters new husband that I've never seen. But my daughter has informed us she is a couple months pregnant. I waited for her to start a discussion but she has not so I wanted to share this great news. We are hoping for a granddaughter as we have wanted one for some time now. It seems all the nice clothes for little ones are the girls clothes. So I just wanted to share my good news. She has yet to be to the Dr. due to no insurance so it's unofficial even though it's been nearly 3 months now. Wooo Hoooo!

there are programs that she can get free/reduced pre-natal care
1-800-311-BABY
Your state's health department website would have more info too, or look in your phonebook under the local/government listings
It is too important to wait! She can get pre-natal vitamins over the counter but she should really get to a doctor!

Ive looked into a few of these programs and they all seem to support abortions and I cant go into those places its just wrong. Ill have insurance soon.

Well... I guess congradulations are in order. I hope that you get the grandaughter that you are hoping for. We were just told a week ago we are to be grandparents again. This time, Bruce's daughter. I just want a healthy grandchild. (((hugs)))

Thanks a lot. We also are hoping first and foremost for a healthy child. Our youngets grandson is Autistic so she has been through a lot and still going through it. Thats all covered by her ex husbands insurance though. Thanks again.

Well congratulations to you and to your daughter Grandpa Bob! I hope you get your wish and get a granddaughter! :)
I hope you don't mind my asking, but what will your daughter do being she's pregnant and has no insurance? I know here in California, they have a medi-cal as well as Healthy Families for pregnant women (that are eligible), but I don't know if something like this is available in your area?
Good luck to your daughter! Oh, and I just have to ask...why haven't you met your son-in-law? Sorry if I missed a discussion on it, but you got my curiosity going. LOL

Thanks bunches.They will be getting some type of insurance soon I am sure. If not then I guess they pay out of pocket etc. She is going to look into free pernatal and natal care as well in her County. I've met him, it's his daughter I haven't met. HAHAHAHA! thanks again.

I guess I should have used the correct punctuation in that statement
in the discussion. Anyhow I have not seen her as she is with the SIL
ex wife. He hasn't seen her in over a year either I think. Sad story actually. Thanks. My bad as far as punctuation. HAHAHAHA!! Some say that still.

CONGRATULATIONS GRANDPA!! That's awesome!! Give your daughter my best wishes for her and her family!!
Now a question, is there a free clinic that she could go to for help? She really needs to get prenatal care and the free clinic would help her get started and maybe even help with the medical bills when she gives birth. Just a suggestion thrown yours and her way. In any case, Congratulations!!

I'll relay the well wishes. And thanks from us all. I am sure she has checked into the free clinics etc. She just hasn't said a whole lot really. This was all just recently rleayed to me so I am not 100% sure as to what she has done along the prenatal care ends.

Awesome. Congrats to her and the rest of the family. I am due with my 2nd daughter in April. I was hoping for a boy, of course. Insurance is a toughie when it comes to pregnancy it is so crucial. I hope you get the baby girl you all want. I was my grandpas only granddaughter for soo many years and am still the apple of his eye. Of course my daughter fills in for me now too though.

Thanks and grats to you as well. My wife and I got lucky and had a boy and a girl then we decided that was perfect. Now my daughter is also hopng for a girl I think. It's what I've wanted for ages though so I am hoping and praying for a girl. They will have insurance soon though so it's not a real biggie at this time. If all else fails they will just have to pay out of pocket with help from us I am sure.

Thanks bunches. I am elated as all hell. Her name is Mandy. Not Amanda just Mandy. She comes on here inder Minnie_ and numbers as well. Here's a shot of my grandsons. Tyler is the oldest at 8 and Hunter is Autistic and he is 6.

Congratulations Grandpa Bob. I hope she gives you the granddaughter that you really want. Thats funny because my daughter is pregnant too. I have two granddaughters from one daughter and now my other daughter is pregnant, and now I'm hoping for a grandson. So I guess we have the opposite. My grandbaby is due in August.

Congrats!!! I'm bettin you'll be spoiling the heck out of a granddaughter.... that's what grandpa's do!!! She does need to see a doctor though... has she tried going through the local health department or anything... some states have the WIC program for expectant mothers... she should see if she qualifies.

never been on WIC dont qualify. Here in minnesota you have to make under $600 a month with a family of 3 to qualify and well i make more than that in child support alone. I will have insurance by the end of this month just had to wait till my husbands open enrollment.

That's what we do best is spoil them. Plus we tend to fill them with sugar and send them home all wired out. HAHAHA! Thanks also. I am talking to her soon and will mention the WIC also. I think she was on that with her first two kids.

Wow! Minnesota is alot stricter than most states for WIC qualification. That's kind of wierd, because it's a federal program, and the federal regulations say you have to make less than 35,765$ for a family of 4.
Either way, it's good you will have insurance soon. I know it's important to get good prenatal care.

Congrads to you and your family!! I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant with my second son :) I'm due in just 33 days and I so can not wait lol. I would of loved a little girl but a boy it is :) I agree they have some pretty nice things for girls out there, but they have quite a nice selection for boys as well :)

Your daughter must be very happy. I have a granddaughter myself, but for some reason I am a boy person and in my daughter-in-law's family, they tend to have more girls then boys and since my sons are adopted, I do not know if it is that way. So I guess you are on tenderhooks waiting for the big event. I was. I had had a miscarriage when I got pregnant, and I was nervous all through my daughter-in-law's pregnancy. I am going to have my birthday in a couple of weeks, and I hope to see them again.

I have to agree here. I can not remember with any of my children my parents being excited. In fact it was Dont you know what causes this. Though, I always take care of my children and in my opinion am an excellent mommy.
