Leave in microwave... do you do this?

Almost every tv dinner or soup or can of whatever I have says to cook for x minutes, and then after the time it up it says "Leave in Microwave for 1 minute" or sometimes longer.
Do you do this? I used to take it out immediately after the time was up b/c I was hungry, but lately I've been leaving it in the microwave for the recommended time and I found that it's actually on there for a reason! First off, the food is cooked a little better when I leave it in. It seems like maybe that last minute is for it to finish cooking. Second although it is still hot to the touch, it's a little bit less hot so it's easier to grab. Finally instead of opening it and having steam blow in my face, the steam seems to calm if I wait the one minute.
So do you do this? Do you think you'll start doing this now that you've read this post??

That's what I used to do, but now I'm thinking it actually cooks more in the microwave during that one minute. So NOW, I grab my drink while it sits in the microwave and get everything ready, then by that time the 1-2 minutes have passed and I realize it's not that hard to wait.
