If I had to choose I would say hot tea. I rarely drink hot tea though. Even in the coldest of weather I am usually drinking a nice cold soda or glass of iced tea. I don't get cold too easy. Heck today I was outside in a pair of capri's and a t-shirt with a shovel. It was around 19 degrees out.

When I was young, I would love Hot Tea with a good amount of sugar in it. It was warming and relaxing. I use much less sugar now, and I don't like my tea quite as hot. I still, sometimes, enjoy a nice warm-hot cup of tea -- now without sugar.
A few weeks ago when I had a cold, I got the shivers. I tried to drink a hot toddy, lemon with tea and whiskey. Didn't seem to work very well.

When hot beverages are involved, I always choose tea. I love it. Especially Earl Grey and Spicy Tazo Chai. Depending on my mood, I'll add milk & sugar but most of the time I just prefer it completely plain, dark, and bitter. To me, tea is soothing and energizing at the same time; I drink about 4 cups a day.

I prefer hot coffee, whether it's hot outside or cold outside. I like to warm up with a nice cup of hot coffee, preferably at my favourite cafe in Guelph, The Second Cup. I can sit in there all day. If they didn't close, I'd never leave.

Hot cup of tea is really a great drink we need in extreme cool weather. Its taste, smell and heat works against cold weather and the tea drinker feel a new life in his or her body. It refreshes the person and the person wish to start the work. If tea is strong, then the person also feel him strong. And can face the coldness of the weather like a brave person. I totally agree with you to prefer the tea.

When it's cold outside, like it is here now at 26 degrees, I gotta have my coffee. I don't really care for tea or hot chocolate. Crazy, I know, since I am from the south, but i just never cared for either one. I think i drank to much tea and hot chocolate as a child and now i can't stand to drink it. anyways, i am rambling now so i will end this. thanks for sharing and God bless
