Just can't seem to find motivation today....

Howdy folks!! I was just wondering if any of you have days when you go through the discussions and just can't find any that strike your interest or you feel like you can't add anything of value. I'm having one of those days. I've been in and out all day long, have rated a few discussions, but I just can't seem to find anything to say really. So I guess I'm going to pose a few questions here in various places about different things and see if I can get some enthusiasm going for my writing!! Help me out everyone... Do you ever just have those days when you can't seem to get excited about anything?

Hi there lightningd! That happens to me too. When I'm just not in the mood for discussions, I try to be inspired. I listen to music, visit other websites and message boards. I take a rest from my lot for a couple of hours and then visit again. I also update my unresolved discussions, start new ones like what you do, and read around. Hope you'll find the inspiration soon.

Well, if I don't find any inspiration, I'm sure I'll find some tomorrow. I could be a bit preoccupied at the moment too though. I mean, I've been trying to get some ideas organized for some articles I need to write for some other news sites, so I've been kind of juggling my time between that and coming in here. Thanks for the post!

Oh yes definitely. Sometimes I just came in here, browsed around and then left without even writing anything. I at least lost my motivation once per week *laughs*. I think it's normal to get "bored" with the routine and that doesn't mean that I don't love mylot anymore. It's just a break! Usually when I get back the next day, I would be much more motivated. Good luck!

It's very easy to get burnt out if here for too long of a time. I take breaks weekly so I don't get too burnt out as well. But today I am on a roll. Started 8 discussions and now am responding like a mad man. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!`

I don't think it's as much boredom for me as it is a lack of energy to delve into some of the posts. I try to rate at least if nothing else. I think that is important. If people are contributing usefull info I will rate positive for them, even if I'm not particularly knowledgeable in that subject, but if their post makes sense to me, then I'll rate it positive. If not, or I'm not interested in teh topic, I'll just move on. Especially if I don't know anything about the subject... I'll tend to leave it alone. Thanks for the post!!

I get that feeling all too often as of late here. With all the past deletions etc it got really bad trying to find discussions I felt safe responding to. It comes and goes in spurts for me. I think it's also part burn out from mylotting too much each day. I have gotten to where I don't do much for a few days then I get on a streak of staring maybe 10 discussions and doing a lot of responding like I am doing today. Most my discussions deal with things that happen or that I saw in my daily life so I am never at a loss as far as what to write about though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, I do'nt know if it's burn out for me, I think sometimes I just get in a "mood" where I don't feel like it. LOL! I'm not much for starting discussions. In the couple months that I have been a member, I don't think I have started all that many discussions, so far, 30 to be exact. That's like one every other day. But I can sometimes just come back in later on and find something to write. Thanks for the post!!

I too experienced this many times. Especially when I have more time and there are not any topics of interests for me to respond. However, what I did would be to at least try to post a new discussion to help grow the pool.

Yea, some days I have alot of time, and there doesnt' seem to be anything I can add to a discussion that would be worthwhile or usefull to anyone. I am trying to start a few discussions here and there. But, it's been a long day, and I'm drawing a blank for some reason. Maybe my brain is in overload. I don't know. LOL.. it will pass I am sure. Usually you can't get me to shut up. Thanks for the post!!

Yep this happens to me alot. They are the days I usually make just a few cents and then other days I make almost .50 cents because I find lots to chat about. I'm hoping to one day make 1.00 but I can't see that happening anytime soon lol

I've actually had a pretty good daily average. My best day was 76 cents, but usually I'm around 30-35 cents. Which still isn't bad. I try to spend a couple hours a day total in here between checking my posts, and surfing through others, rating them and responding when I feel it's appropriate. It's just some days I get in a funk ya know!! Thanks for the post!!

yes I do, quite a lot of days I cant seem to get excited about anything. This is mainly due to the pessimistic streak in me because usually when I get excited about something it all goes wrong, so now I dont get excited about it until it happens just in case! I do find it hard somedays to find discussions that I can participate in, I look at them and then think no I dont think I can add anything interesting and leave it, but then I find I can go back to it a couple of hours later and have loads to say.

Yup, that sounds like me. It's probably better that I don't try to post when I get in that kind of mood anyway. But with me it's sort of like, "Well, I could probably say this, or that, but, surely someone else will say it." And I just go on about my business. Then I have days that I don't make it in except first thing in the morning then late at nite, and there were lots of great discussions started by nighttime, and I just don't have time to post to them. Oh well, maybe I'll get some type of schedule going where I just come in here at a certain time of day. Thanks for the post!!

Few times I experienced that here on mylot. It's like I've been visiting pages to pages on the Today's Top Discussions but I just can't react to one of them because I can't relate. Well sometimes, there really are times that my heads to empty or too lousy to respond or comment to other's discussion here. Normally if that's my case, I end up responding to at least ten posts.

I think that's what I'm feeling right now, since I wasn't here for a couple of days. Thanks to our DSL provider, I wasn't able to be here because of their maintenance. Right now, I'm having a hard time catching up here. I looked at my e-mail and a hundred of them came from my friend's discussions here on mylot. I'm slowly trying to search for my pace, hopefully I could respond and post to those of which that concerns me..
