Does Anyone Still Use SLRs?

I remember learning photography with a Canon A1. I've had an Olympus and eventually stepped up to a Nikon F1. With the dawn of the digital cameras, does anyone still use the old fashioned Single Lens Reflex? I notice my Sony digital camera takes fantastic pics. Does anyone have an opinion of the quality difference between SLRs and digital?

As much as the advantages of technology has even gotten to hobbies like that of photography, features like auto focus, shake resistance in case you aren't steady while aiming to take the shot, light and other set ups that you could mention, I still give respect to those who are able to capture captivating and stunning portraits with those Single Lense Reflex Cameras. I still use those SLRs that I have if I get the chance though its really hard to have pictures developed and then receive shots that aren't satisfying while when you were in the moment of taking the picture, you thought that it would look nice in portrait. Disappointing shots if you have that short experience with cameras like that. For Digitals, you can immediately see them and decide which ones you can delete or not. Cost effective and efficient. You can take shots as much as you want as long as the memory would hold. It somehow gets me thinking that preparations that use to be decided before is now spontaneous with digital cameras However, more better when experienced photographers hold them. More better results are expected none the less.

I still have my Pentax K1000 that I got when I was in eighth grade for a photography class. That was a long time ago. I stil love using it, although I haven't used it in a while. I love to take black and whites with it, but I was having a hard time getting a good quality developer so I kind of stopped using it. A friend and I were talking about going out on a photo shoot and pulling it out, so I will try again.
