Child, 8, wants to live as a Girl

This is a true story. The parents of an 8-year old boy, who wants to live an be treated as a girl, have been working with the Douglas county school district (near Denver, Colorado, USA) to allow their child to attend as a girl. http://www.denverpost.com/emailed/ci_8201821

I think 8 is a little early to make those kind of decisions. However, as long as no surgery is involved I think it seems like a good plan. If my kid was trans and wanted surgery he or she would have to be 18. That's just my opinion.

I think it's wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong about being transgender, even if it is err... different. Allowing an eight year old child to live as a girl and even going to far as to get the child enrolled in school as a girl is just plain wrong. Fair enough if the kid wants to be a girl, but wait until he is old and mature enough to make the right decision.
