I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, to me it's an ordinary day, no different than yesterday and no different from tomorrow, to me I call it V Day because it has no significance to me, well only one but that is the anniversary that I met my ex!
February 14th, 2003 I met my ex, so that's 5 years! I even got an email from him today to wish me happy valentines day and to remind me (do I need reminding????) that we met exactly 5 years ago TODAY! The email got discarded naturally ;0)
I receive no V Cards and I don't send V cards either. However I have given myself a present and it's a present far more valuable than roses or a box of chocs, it's more than money can buy, it's more precious than gold and that's freedom!
My Valentine's gift to Wolfie is Freedom!
So what is the best gift you can receive on V day?
And do you remember anniversaries of 'horrible occasions in your past'?

Only the date of my wedding and I wouldn't change having done that as I wouldn't have had my eldest if I hadn't married my ex! lol The best gift for valentines to me are the little things that show me how well he knows me and what I like - like today he got me a supply of my new fave sweets which I am addicted to and he had to go to the trouble of tracking down as they are not widely available! I am so pleased that you are free at last and that this freedom has allowed you to blossom into the wonderful wolf that you are today sweety! Love and Hugs xxx

Freedom is a great thing to celebrate my friend. You are healing well from your horrid past relationship. Your ex was wrong to send you an email. You didn't need reminding that it would have been your anniversary. In the last few months we have seen a happier Wolfie and now we see a free Wolfie. Valentine's Day is for couples and the flowers and chocolates will not last forever but I hope the good relationships do. Time heals and it is perhaps better to remember happy anniversaries, like mine on the 24th February and that was setting off on my around the world trip.

I think that alot of these holidays were thought up by the card and gift companies to make a buck..Or at least they promote the holiday in a very huge way..
I think it's all about a dollar..
Women seem to need a gift or card as validation..
Men seem to feel they have to give..

I tend to agree with you. I have never ever thought valentines day was anything too special and have never got into the over-blown gift giving of any of these holidays. I can't say that I hate it either....no bad memories and I do enjoy buying something small for my girls, grandkids. I do enjoy some romantic time with my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I exchanged card but that's it....we'll do the romantic evening some other nite and we would anyway whether it be a holiday or not. Congratulations on your freedom. It is the best gift anyone can ever give themselves.

I am not also celebrating Valentine's Day. No date, no cards and chocolates. For my hubby works abroad. We just greeted each other over the phone. For, what important most is the love that stays. By that, it is like Valentine's Day everyday.

Hello dear wolfie. Happy V Day. Anyway it is an ordinary day for me as well because my wife and I have been used to having this day as an ordinary day for many years since we got married, which is not special to us at all. Please enjoy your V Day.
