Filters for digital cameras

February 14, 2008 6:08am CST
Hi guys, does anyone know of any filters that are available for compact digital cameras, I have a fuji finepix and I would like to be able to filter out bright sunlight and reduce glare, I know it can be done after processing on your computer but a simple filter as on my SLR would be ideal and so much easier. All the best, J.

There are some filters out there made for point and shoot compact digital cameras. There isn't a lot of variety, mostly polarizers and neutral density filters. Adorama has some on their website under "Lens Accessories", but I don't know if there are any for your specific brand of camera.

I do not think that there are filters for any of the point and shoots. A few of the cameras that are designed like DLSR's but are still fully automatic have lens that have screw on adapters for the full filter line - such as the Canon S5IS. You will have to settle for software filters in computer software.
