I just checked our stock room this morning, it's too crowded and haven't been cleaned for maybe a month. So I decided to check and clean it first thing this weekend, maybe organize and sort out all the stuffs that needs to thrashed so I could make some room for the one's that I'm planning to put inside.
Our stock room is just small, but the good thing is it has shelves where we could put small stuffs in it. If I'm not mistaking, it's 6x6 in both angles and about 12 feet in height. We have an old tv, monitor and other miscellaneous stuffs in it. Some I'm planning to dump and others could be sold for recycling, as I could also make an extra cash out of it!;)
I know that others have attics and dungeons or basements, where they could stock up some of the junks that piles up in their house. So where do you put your's, or do you simply throw things away?

so how much did you get from those old stuffs raijin? ^__^
we also have a small stock room at the back of our house. i don't clean it by the way. ^__^;; my mother is the one who always organize it. it has old bags, documents, book,s shoes, toys, and everything. mostly its bags because my mother had lots of bags before. and most of them we cannot re-use because its so old, and the style is has-been. ^__^;; i don't know what my mother do with the old stuffs when she cleans the stock room. but sometimes, my cousins would come over and they would ask my mother to give them some of the old stuffs.
as for my old stuffs, i don't know. ^__^;; i forget all the things that i am not using so probably its also my mother that organizes them and stores them somewhere in the stock room. sometimes if i'm getting tired of a stuff, i would give it to someone before i misplace it and lose it. ^__^

Not much, but it does provide some extra for our daily miscellaneous expenses!LoL
My mother also does the cleaning sometimes, but she's not getting any younger anymore so I'm the one who shoulders it!;) She's also the one who collects some stuffs for no reason, so when I find it I always include on either in our trash or with the one's I'd make a profit for.. Heehee!

Hi raijin! Why are you still awake? :) As for me, just finished doing the dishes, mopping the floor and last minute cleaning. And trying to catch up some Mylotting.
We don't have an attic, basement, or dungeon. lol! But we do have a small spare room that I've converted into a semi-storage room/ironing room. I regularly check out some stuffs that have been piled up in some corner and sort them out for their usefulness. I did try what you're doing. Selling some things to the junk shop. But because it's much more inconvenient for me to take a jeepney then go to the junkshop, I rather take out the things that we don't need anymore and "donate" them to the designated garbage retrieval personnel. Sometimes it's amusing to see them when I have thing to give to them. They look like small children being given presents.
The only things that I did keep are baby clothes and things. I was planning to give them to either one of my sisters if they get pregnant again. And now, my sister needs them.
I don't make a habit of keeping things that can turn out to be a major mess in the end. Like my husband does.lol. Let's just say, he's responsible for messing the house and I do the clean-up. :)

Yep still awake, for I am doing a little catching up myself. My internet was down for a couple of days, the server just restored the signal this afternoon.
I guess one advantage I have is, I know people who buys old busted stuffs here!;) They were from the place where we used to live, I see some of them loitering around here in my place so I ask for suggestions from them!;)
Old clothings like those of the babies can be useful indeed, I remember my mother telling us story how my used-to-be shirt was still being used by some of our relatives from the province. Imagine the amount of time it has been, yet it is still being used!;) Though they are not that poor, I believe they prefer to use it instead of buying another one in which they could money and spend it on other things that are worth spending at!;)

That's the way it should be done, it seems that you're hubby's have lots of stuffs to share with others!;)
The wind here's the same from where you are at right now, I haven't used any fan at nights and is even struggling having a bath since we don't have any water heaters here!;)

Yes, I've noticed that you haven't logged in for three days. Hopefully, our internet signal won't have any problems especially that we're experiencing very strong winds here at Bulacan.
You're very lucky to have people like them who's willing to buy things from you. From where we live, if I want to sell some things at the nearest junkshop, I'll have to spend more than P100.00 for my transportaion, back and forth.
Your old clothes has come a long way, huh.:) My husband who had tons of old polo shirts, finally decided to just keep a few and give the rest to his father who was living at the province.

i usually throw them out because i believe in relieving myself of any excess baggage, thing s that i do not need anymore to lighten up my load but i realized that those things things could be sold to the world through ebay and some other local sites . one's junk could be a treasure for someone else. so, now i am collecting all my junks and doing inventory and cleaning them to be sold to the world. anyway it has been gathering dust for years now and it would not hurt to kust leave it there for another year or so waiting for it to be sold to someone who might need it.

Though I'm not much into e-bay or any other, I do sell those of which I don't have any use of. Sometimes, I give it to those who needs it more like used clothings.
That's a good practice you have there, how I wish I still had those old stuffs now.. =)

^_^ I think because we are worried that we might need said item at a later time or date. So we like to keep it around and then once we proved the theory to ourselves that we didn't need it then we can through it out LOL!!!:)

That is the hardest part of the house- the stockroom. You need to clean it as often as you could so insects will not thrive there and ruin your things. You should maintain its cleanliness and orderliness most of the time to make sure everything in it is preserve on its proper condition.

raijin^_^
i hate cleaning up stock rooms and all matters of cleaning the house because i get to sneeze non stop, sinusitis sucks..
err..
one thing i dont get is, even if its old, broken or completely useless, i never throw them away.. i got appliances which are malfunction so i put them in the stock room.. bunch of newspapers, even bottles or all kinds of big boxes.. anything i can keep, i keep it^_^
there was once my sister came and tried to clean the whole house, then when i check the stock room, almost half the load and all organized, i panic and ask her where she place this and that.. then i found out most stuff she threw away.. well, i agree, it is really not necessary to keep junkies.. but its hard to let them go.. even if they look like trash.
so enjoy cleaning^_^
take care raijin..

I too used to sneeze non-stop when cleaning, I even put a face mask every time I wipe some dusts off. But thanks to the vitamins I'm taking up, I don't have to worry of it anymore!;)
Papers and other recyclable materials should be thrown or sold, you never know what pests it might attract in your house. Just another reason in keeping the environment clean, a small step to make a difference!;)
I have some of my junks, but I do sort them out at times and throw away those of which I thik has no relevance with me at all!;)

There is a shed out back of the house and that is where I store my items that are not needed all the time. The problem with that is I am known as a pack rat. I find it hard to throw anything away. I have records even still even though I have no record player to play them with. I have magazines from a long time ago. I do need to do some cleaning out but it will be hard for me to throw things out.

Well you could sell those records if you want, you can always make additional income from it!;) I think you just have to find a way to sort things out, you can also ask for help so you can easily distinguish which ones you don't need and which one you should put in the trash..

When we had a house with an attic and basement, it would start out neat and organized and then gradually fill up. Then I'd have to spend time organizing and sorting and throwing away and giving away. Boy did that consume time. We moved to smaller house and got rid of a bunch of stuff. Then we moved across the country to an apartment and had to leave so much stuff behind. At the time, it seemed okay, but I miss some of my belongings now. As we don't have as much room, I don't buy anything without thinking it over anymore. Probably a good thing. We have a small storage room in our apartment and we have to empty it out and reorganize about once a month, since we seem to throw things in haphazardly. whit

We moved alot also, many times we live other stuffs that we won't be needing anymore. It does help us, since we don't have to worry of carrying too much trash on the nest we're going to live in.
Right now, the house we're in to is big and has a storage area. Hopefully, this is the last place where will settle for a long time.

Hello,Raijin! stck room or the store room whatever it may be,it should be regularly cleaned otherwise insects may damage things.not only the store room but also the living rooms, kitchen dining room must be cleaned at regular intervals and the stuffs may be preserved in an oganised way.special care should be taken to avoid clutter of things.un-necessary things must be thrown out or sold for recycling.you have said that you have kept old tv and a monitor in your store room.you throw it out if not working.or just repair and keep on running condition since nonworking electronic goods radiate some bad things which may effect health of the inmates.we clean our house at regular intervals and throw away unnecessary things and sale the old papers for recycling.thank you.
