The Restroom Test

Which toilet would you chose? You go into a toilet and there are 9 urinals/cubicles all available as shown below. Which one woud you chose? Entrance 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Analysis: Gentlemen: The behavior of men chosing urinals is different from that of women chosing restroom stalls according to some reports. Whereas more women prefer stalls in the middle section, men prefer urinal stalls at either end of the line, obviously trying to draw as little attention as possible. Those men who actually chose urinals in the middle (4,5, or 6) seem to be less self conscious and less likely to succumb to external influence or pressure. Ladies: Women who chose stall 1-3 are more flexible and can adjust to a new situation more quickly. These women tend to be direct and straightforward, and they would not hesitate as much as others when confronted with decision making. Women who chose stalls 4-6 are cautious, moderate, balanced. They refrain from going to extremes and generally want to feel safe. Women who chose stalls 7-9 have a stronger sense of ones own space, they would not mind going a little deeper into the corners, where its less likely that they'll be disturbed, even though other women would consider such positions more dangerous ones. So what cubicles would you chose and what does that say about who you are?

I choose #9 because it is probably less used and therefore might have fewer of other people's germs. If not less used, although I suspect it is, at least my reasoning would be that anyone ambitious enough to go all the way to the end to choose a cubicle might also choose to wash their hands afterwards, preferably with soap! Any woman who thinks one end of a restroom is any safer than the other end, is, I think, seriously deluding herself. One must be on guard at all times in public places.

As always, you make some very good points. I didn't think of the ambitiousness of the woman going all the way to the end. Thanks

That is an excellent point Drannhh. I hate when people use the bathroom and don't wash their hands! I like when there is a garbage can by the door so that I can wash my hands and then use the paper towel to dry my hands and then open the door with it and toss it in the can. Next time I go into a multi-stall bathroom, I will remember your reasoning and go further down the line!

I, too, prefer to use a paper towel to open the door, both to keep my clean hands clean and also to wipe off some of the germs from the previous people who did not wash their hands. Unfortunately some folks think it environmentally sound to remove the towel option from public rest rooms, replacing the towels with a blower which not only blows the germs all over, but encourages people to handle the door. I consider this misguided, but apparently being in a minority, I just deal with it by carrying a disposable towel with me, just in case, as no way am I going to touch that door.

There seems to have some truth to what you say me a man I always would choose to urinals at the end if it is not occupied then I used it as often as I could. I nver realized that there's some meaning to it. I wonder how the study was made. The researcher would have to stay there to observe the people.

That is actually very accurate and funny. I picked 5. I am very cautious and moderate. I am not so sure about balanced. Some of my coworkers might say I was unbalanced! LOL I have always been one to try to avoid attention being drawn to myself. Thanks for the insightful and introspective question that makes one examine one's own personality.

I usually go to the corners. I like privacy, and specially, I wanna leave enough room for other guys to be as far as they can from me. I hate to be rubbing against someone, or having people unconsciously (I HOPE) stare at the Maharajah. I never questioned my self consciousness, or compared me to others in term of influences. Id rate myself as being really average.

Well I personally find it hard to even go if im on a urinal so I tend to go into a stall even though im a guy. If there is no stalls or there are no available stalls i tend to either walk away and hold it in or wait for a stall. In worst case scenarios I take the urinal where I can hide best from everyone else or wait for the restroom to emptyfy for some privacy.

Interesting poser. For me, if the stalls in the male toilet are free, I will choose these over the urinals, more for privacy reasons I guess. Anyone will do, I really have no preference. If the stalls are utilized, then I'll go for the urinals. Again, no preference and anyone will do. Usually if the toilet is crowded, and people are standing around waiting for their turn, I'll just go for the one that is vacated.

I'd like to add that some toilets are badly designed, such that the toilet doors are poorly placed in relation to where the urinals and stalls are positioned. The door to the toilet is usually opened in, and the handle can be on the left or right. Some toilets doors are positioned such that whenever the door is opened (even slightly), the urinals immediately come into the view of someone who is standing outside, and there's no privacy for those doing their business inside from prying eyes. Well designed toilets have either well positioned doors or have double doors built. When I come across such badly designed toilets, I will definitely avoid using the urinals.

LOL.. I don't have a choice. I always have to choose the handicapped accessible ones in the back of the restroom. But if I had to choose, it will probably be up to what I'm about to do. If I just need to pee, then I'd probably choose the stalls in 1-3, so I can get out of there easily and quickly. But if I'm about to do a #2, then I'd probably choose the back stalls, so I can have a little privacy and spare the other ladies of the noises and smells. Hehehe......

I always chose the one furthest from the door as that always has toilet paper, as most people go for the first ones out of lazyness or for quickness. I think it shows that I think ahead and that I go for the option, that on the surface takes longer but think how many times you go to a public toilet and there is no paper there, hmmmmmm

Thats a really good answer. Nothing worse than being in the restroom, not having any toilet paper and no one to ask for any. I've actually had to use the seat covers before. LOL.
