Have you ever called your boyfriend or girlfriend by the wrong name?

No, I've never called anyone I was with the wrong name. I did have it happen to me though. One guy I dated last year kept calling me by his old wife's name. He was a widower for more than a couple of years and he'd always call me her name by mistake. The first time, it didn't bother me because I knew that they had been married for many many years, and that he loved her totally. But after a few months of errors here and there, I had to question it in my mind. A few months is well enough to get it right! I believe this is what they call a Fruedian Slip...this person is so ingrained into the persons heart and soul that they can't help but still think of their 'other'. A one-time mistake is ok, but if it keeps happening you just have to wonder where they're coming from lol.

No, I didn't tell him off. I figure that would be pointless since it probably came from his sub-conscious and he didn't even realize that he was doing it. I know his sister heard him a couple of times and poked him in the ribs, and even then it didn't register right off that he had called me by her name until his sister pointed it out. Doesn't matter, we were history after a few months later when I found he had a temper problem.

I have but not in the context that you would think of... I have done it when I speak of them in the past... this person or that person did this or that for me.
I HAVE been with my wife and said 'remember the last time we were here... it was so romantic' and she responded with 'I've never been here before in my life much less with you'. Heh whoops.
Great post
