Here we go again. This afternoon, at 3:20 PM a gunman broke into a lecture hall at NIU and opened fire. He was described as 'heavily armed' with a shot gun and a pistol, and possibly more weapons. The current report, as I write this, is 18 injured, with 2 dead (1 of the dead being the gunman). The gunman was reported to be a senior at NIU. Some of the student reporters suggested that it may be related to a gun threat from last semester. Luckily, NIU's emergency alert service was active, so students received word quickly to head for safety. Please keep the students, victims and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
