What's the first gadget that you ever own? Mine would be a pager. It is an easycall yellow one. I was on my second year of high school then and on that time, there aren't any cellular phones available yet. Cellular phones were sold later that year and I got mine a few months after I got my pager or beeper as others would call it. It was a Nokia analog phone, meaning it's not capable of sending and receiving text messages. You can only make calls with it. It's in a zero-balance plan with Smart telecommunications meaning you only pay for what you use. There isn't a regular monthly service fee. How about you?

My first gadget was an LED wristwatch. My second gadget was an LED pocket calculator. Yes, I am that old. It sure was an advance over using a slide rule! Do any of you know what a slide rule is?

A slide rule looks like a ruler with another sliding ruler in the middle. There is also a slide on the whole thing. There are numbers on both rulers. When you line up numbers and move the slide you can do complex math calculations. Never needs batteries or a recharge!

I wanted to have a pager back then but my parents won't buy me one which really made me sad, I was in 5th grade that time. Lol. As for my first gadget, I can't remember which gadget I had first but its either my mobile phone which was a Nokia 5110 or my Vtech Laptop. :) The Nokia 5110 was the most common phone you'll see anywhere during that time which was the first of its kind and was succeeded by the Nokia 3310 popularity wise. The other gadget was a VTech Laptop . Those laptops for kids that you'll see in stores such as Toys R Us and Toy Kingdom. I think I had both gadgets in the same month and year which was during 2000. Both were given by my parents of course and I was in 4th grade that time. I only have the Vtech Laptop because I have sold the phone years ago.
That's about it. :)
-best of luck-

Yeah. The Nokia 5110 cost a lot during that time. Now, it cost about less than P1,000 already. :) A bosch cellular phone? That's cool. I love the sleek designs of those phones before. I am guessing you have that flip phone because those were among the best that time. Thanks.
-take care-

No, it's the cheapest Bosch one. I forgot the model of the phone but it's not a flip phone.

Hi there meeming! Thank you very much for your response. I remember my friend having a Nokia 5110 which she bought for P8,000.00 that time. She has the coolest phone around. I have a Bosch cellular phone then.

Hi there Adezalfa!
I think it is practical to buy second hand items especially if they are still in good working condition especially if you can't afford a brand new one. And yeah, mobile phone accessories used to be really expensive.
Thank you very much for your response.

Hi there angel08! Thank you very much for your response. I just remembered that there were types of pagers that you can replace their casings with another color.

Hi,
Well I guess my first real gadget was my phone (with touchscreen etc). Just because it was something I bought because I thought it was cool. Not to play with :P. I did own a gameboy (atleast some black and white large handheld game).
As for that phone I got I was the first one at my school / work to have one so it really was a gadget back then it was a Qtek S100 capable of navigation etc.
With kind regards,
MOnline

Hi there MOnline! Thank you very much for your response. I had that black and white screen gameboy too. The only cartridge I have is Super Mario, though.

Hi there! Thank you very much for your response. I agree that recordind devices can help alot for reviewing past lessons. You broke the rule but it's for something good. Reminded me of the naughty days that I had in our school with my friends.

Hi there! Thank you very much for your response. Oh, I don't think it's nice sharing a mobile phone with your mom. Well, not if you have a cool mom though.
