Why do you American call the game 'resident evil'?? You know ,but in China and Japan,we call the game "biohazard4' Any friends tell me this is why?

This game based on a story written by Japanese. This Story name : Biohazzard. When this game went to US. Because the game concern with Racoon City. So , I called : Resident Evil. That is my opinion

I have a magazine that tells why the series' name was changed, but I cannot remember where I put it lol. I think it said that Biohazzard was a different game entirely that inspired the Resident Evil series. I'll look for that magazine and update you when I read the article again.

I think they had to change it due to marketing stragety. And one thing I know is that biohazzard is also a movie... classic =P

I don't know why, but I think it has to do with marketing rights. Games made by Japanese developers come out over there first, therefore, the games have the original title. When they come out in America, the affiliates of the original company may have the right to change the name to get the most sales. Some names are common here that may not be over there. Resident Evil still rocks though, no matter what you call it! :)
