Did you know that evergreen trees could be harmful? I found this interesting information today that people should know! I'm glad I know this now because I have done it in the past. I live in PA where evergreens are all over and everytime I have ever been to a fire we have used evergreens to add to the flames. Now I will know better! Pine, spruce, or other evergreen wood should never be used for barbecuing. These woods, when burning or smoking, can add harmful tar and resins to the food. Only hardwoods should be used for smoking and grilling.
