I have been observing this since my childhood days that dogs tend to be more sensitive and shower lots of affection when the kids go near them. I have a 4 year old German Shepherd at home and my 2 year old Son loves spending time with the Canine.
Seeing him play with the Dog, i recollected the good old days when i used to carry any pup with me on my way from school.

My older dog is very good around kids. She loves the attention and she watches over them too. Our younger dog gets too hyper and can knock the kids down if we're not watching closely. She wants to play with them so badly that she forgets her manners. We end up putting her in the kennel when other kids come over.

Animals usually catch up the vibration of very feeling in man..say when you are angry it understands..similar way kids are curious and soft and soothy hence dogs feel very pleasant being at their company..and thats why animals especially dogs are fond of kids..
