If anyone can explain this to me, I'd dearly love to know why, out of nowhere, did my cat just zoom through the room, up onto the top of the couch, back across my keyboard, and now she has absolutely disappeared! Was it something I said? Something I thought? Two minutes ago she was, I swear on a stack of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, SLEEPING on (of course) my best chair. You know, the one you want to stay hair-free? Yep, that one.

I hate to tell you this, but sometimes cats are just insane for no reason. My cat, Bindi, does weird stuff like that all the time. She runs from one end of the house to the other, jumps all over things, then hides for hours afterwards. Her favorite thing, though, is to sit on top of my monitor and bat at my screen. She loves to try and "catch" my cursor. It's so cute.

My family has 3 cats, & one of them literally trys to climb the walls. She'll just jump at them like she's spotted a bug, but there's never anything there. We also had a cat that at first was kept in my parents bedroom, & in the middle of the night he would just run around the room several times, jump on the bed, bounce off them, then go lay down & go to sleep like it wasn't strange at all. & if you've ever had a cat pounce on your gut in the middle of the night, you know that it can darn near give you a heart-attack, & he did this for quite a while. The other cat that jump on the walls is also a big bully (my brothers). She likes to pick on my own cat, who is a miss priss as we affectionately call her, Bobbie (mine) will just be walking past Ginger (brothers) & WHAM!!! Bobbie's shaking her poor head to knock some sense back in. Poor Baby. & this is an everyday, multiple times a day occurance.

Does she have to go out? Mine won't use the litter box (we have two cats, two litter boxes, still no go) Our older cat jumps around and zooms around the house when she wants to be noticed to go outside. And she makes a funny little hop, stands on the door and bounces off. She does this when she wants in too. The other cat scratches the glass to be let in. Go figure. they are weird. Hope this helped and was at least funny. B

Weird is right. I swear she's communicating telepathically and can't understand why I don't answer her back! You know how they sit and just stare at you? Or, if I am thinking about her, here she is, sweet and innocent as pie, coming to cuddle. Gets all comfy and cozy and I start to doze off and guess what? she nips me! now, why???

Does she have a catnip toy by any chance? This can cause very strange behavior. I had a cat that was addicted to the stuff and was absolutely hilarious when he had eaten some of it. At first he would roll around real cute like, and then he was like someone on speed. He would tear around the house like greased lightening. Then he would come up to me and look at me with soulfull eyes like I need another fix Mom. I wouldn't give him anymore that day and he would go off somewhere and sleep off his high. Shalom~Adoniah

Ahhh, so your cat calls you mom too, hmmm? No, no catnip that I know of, unless her friends are supplying her on the quiet. Or daddy has done so. Maybe if I GET her some catnip, she'll be normal? Just a thought...grins and thanks, cryllie

We had a cat at the marina that we called Spookie. She did not belong to anyone she just lived there and we saw that she was fed and cared for. Now Spookie was a product of multiple incestual relationships in her family. In other words, this cat was nuts from the word go. She would be walking along nice and peaceful, and then all of a sudden she would leap into the air change direction in the air, and head the another direction. When she landed, she would run at full speed leap up again spin in the air again, and land at a full run. When she stopped, she would sit there, and calmly wash her face like, Well, I got rid of that Demon and she would stride off as if nothing had happened, until the next time. I named her well. Some cats are just a little touched in the head.

Adoniah...wow, I really like your screen name, by the way. Do you have a cat now-or I should say, does a cat have you? This is actually my first cat ever, unless you count the Siamese my daughter owned that condescended to reside under my roof. Do you think the kind of food she eats matters?

My cats do this too. Its actually got a technical name, and is called a "rant". Cats rant when they have too much energy and need to blow off steam. Its totally normal and can be expected from time to time. When my cats do it, I call it the "kittyanapolis 500" because they do several circuits around the house. Its fun to watch, and they seem to enjoy it, so just let them do it and enjoy the show.

yhou know the term she had a catfit, well that is what your cat did, it happens and I have never learned why. It does not seem to hurt the cat or that the cat is unwell, the cat just somehow has some trigger that sends it off zooming all over the place and eventually the cat just sits down as if nothing had ever happened.
