*spoiler alert*
yo guys! have you watched this movie?? Hayden Christensen plays David Rice who has the ability to "jump", i.e. teleporting in an instant to another place (much like the instant transmission technique of Son Goku in Dragonball Z) while Samuel L. Jackson plays the Paladin, Roland, the antagonist whose only goal in life is to kill all jumpers in the world believing that only God has the right to be at different places at one time.
all in all, the movie has great special effects and a lot of nice tourist spots were shown but i wasn't satisfied with it. the movie was short and it was never explained why or how there are jumpers and why the Paladins want them dead. it wasn't also explained why David's mother, also Paladin, was able to have a Jumper baby. i've read some reviews and they said the movie ruined the book.
but then, thanks for Samuel L. Jackson's character, Roland has a snow-like hair which is in super contrast with his skin which i thought was really cool and entertaining. ^__^ and Samuel Jackson played a really good villain and i was happy that he didn't die in the end. ^__^
are you planning to watch this movie? why?
have you watched this movie? what can you say?

LOL ^_^ i just watched this movie about 3hrs ago only.. hehe.. It's reallt quite short for this movie and alot of things are left unexplained such as y are there more than 1 jumper, where do their powers come from and y are they scare of electric currents.. hehe ^_^ yup, the white hair do really stand out on Samuel L jackson because he is so dark and yet funny to have snow white hair on him.. LOL ^_^

hi kun! so nice to hear that you have watched this movie also. yeah. it wasn't clearly explained why Roland can capture a jumper by electrocuting them. hmmm.. they didn't explain too how a jumper can "jump". i mean, the mechanism behind it. must be like apparating (Harry Potter).

I agree. it would be the worst movie for this first quarter. I really hope there would be a follow up movie next year. and Samuel L. Jackson will still be there as Roland.

My friends and I are planning to watch this movie, The Jumper, next week. I invited them first actually, I like the movie, I mean from the posters, the trailer, and the title itself. It's tempting to watch on the big screen. And Christensen is the man, I saw one of his movies -- Life as a House. He was the cute prodigal son there and of course Samuel Jackson, how could I compare him to others. He's one of the best.

I just watch this movie a while ago... fresh from my alone time...
I think the movie is quite interesting... and i love the views for all over the world and the special effects were great... maybe the reason for all the questions in your mind is that... if the movie does good... the plot is open for a prequel or a sequel... so as to complete the whole movie...
But now that you mentioned about the book... i think i will hunt this one down... i always tend to appreciate the book more rather than the movie...

yeah, the movie is open for a prequel or a sequel. but i think they made it badly open. some movie with sequels/prequels aren't as dissatisfying as that. i'm just hoping the sequel or the prequel would be better. ^__^

no.1 huh? I don't know about here. its not making any fuss at all. but it will be really great if there will be a sequel or a prequel that wil shed light on some things.

I just read that this movie is number 1 in the box office... so that is a good thing since the producers has a reason to do a prequel or a sequel... i would definitely watch them so that some of the questions in my mind can get answers...

Part II will probably be worse. I hardly ever go to movies any more because they are too expensive and people have their cell phones going off all the time. When we finish watching all the old time movies they keep showing over and over on TV then maybe we will rent a few, lol, but the producers won't be mad at you on my account, because they don't get much of my money anyway!

LOL yeah, i guess so. but i won't wonder why people would be disappointed after they have watched this movie. ^__^;; movie tickets are really getting expensive nowadays. but here in our country, the movie experience is still usually worth the money. ^__^

I went and saw this movie last night on a Valentine's date with my boyfriend. He was upset that it was more a "love story" than he thought.. I liked it, it was a nice surprise for V day! ;) I also thought they were going to show more interesting places, that's why I wanted to see it! It seemed like they just kept showing the same 3 places over and over. There wasn't much explanation either. I thought the relationship was cute but they should have explained things more. Samuel L. Jackson... the whole movie, my boyfriend and I were saying "I've had it with these mother f***in' snakes on this mother f***in' plane! hehe ;)

more of a love story?? i never thought of that angle. indeed, i was annoyed with that part. i thought it ruined all the action.

i've watched this movie already and it interesting in some parts. like robbing a bank if your penniless. roaming the world in just one day and jump around if there's a bad guy around. i just think that it lacks fact and you wont feel rooting for the characters. i like samuel's character though. or he's just a very good actor.

LOL yeah, robbing a bank, that was interesting. but i thought it was too big for a fist timer. i think he should have started with something small. something like that wouldn't catch the police's attention. yay! but jumping around the world in just one day is definitely fun! i would have done it too. ^__^
yeah, thank God Samuel Jackson was there. ^__^

Anyways, i would love to see Hayden and Samuel and be entertained. Though, not explaining the how's and why's in the movie may spoil things for me but I still look forward to watching it.

hi cdparazo! ^__^ it may not be a satisfying movie but i still suggest that you watch it on the cinemas. its better to watch it on the big screen and great sound systems. you'll probably won't understand it more if you watched it on dvd. ^__^
