Going to the same place over and over or discover new spots

As I've been traveling for the last 10 years (well, 6 months every year, but still) I've sort of seen all of the places that I really, really wanted to see. Every now and then you get stuck in a city, village or beach, just because the place has some weird, sometimes unexplainable attraction to you. I know I'll be traveling again in October (officially I'm still traveling now, I'm going home in March), and I wonder what makes more sense: trying to discover a new spot you hadn't heard of or thought of before, or going back to one of the places where you know you'll have a great time.

thank u for bringing such meaningful topic. i find we always face the same dilemma through our life, that is catch the happiness own today or go for the uncertain area tomorrow. i haven't a specific answer so far.

I guess you could sort of expand the question to other matters in life as well. I was talking about traveling, but after reading your response, I definitely could have been talking about life in general, and whether we choose security or go for adventure. Thanks for opening my eyes on my own issues :-)

I really love to travel. There are so many places that I want to go to that I rarely go to the same place twice. I like to have new adventures in many different places and get more and more happy memories. I have been to California three times and to Singapore twice because of the way flights went. I loved being in Sydney and San Francisco so I think I would like it in Cape Town and Vancouver. I loved being in Prague, Budapest and Dubrovnik so I think I would like it in Riga, Tallinn and St Petersburg. I loved going to French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa so I think I would like Mauritius, Tobago and Grenada. One of the best holidays I have had was in Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. I had such a wonderful adventure snorkeling, caving and climbing Mayan ruins. So I think I would like to explore more of Central America and venture into South America. I wish you happy traveling.

If you loved Mexico, Belize and Guatemala, you should definitely venture more in that continent. I actually worked in a hostel in Guatemala and traveled through Mexico for 6 months, mainly because I love the Mayan culture and wanetd to see every single temple ever build. You enjoy snorkeling, do you also scuba-dive? If so, the cenotes in Tulum are one of the most amazing things you'll ever see. And I'm sorry to hear you had to go to Singapore twice :-) And Brasil and Argentina are definitely worth wasting a year on as well.....

I stick to what is already known to me. I don't want to be disappointed so if a place hasn't been discovered before I wouldn't dare go there first. I want to make sure people have liked it before I go there. So I rather go back to places I already liked.

There are 7,107 islands in my country, Philippines waiting for me to be explored. I would comeback if there are new things to do in that place. But if not, I'd rather spend the money exploring some new place as there are a lot of interesting places here.
