First I would like to say - I wear my glasses while training Aikido, they fit my face very well, and have not fallen off(as of yet). and you know there is a lot of rolling and falling and sweat involved, so that is saying something.
Second - I would like to point out that in a so called "real" confrontation, glasses/contacts would be almost the first thing to fall off or break.
Thirdly - Training with out glasses on(I hear) allows you a great ability to sense the Ki of your partner, some people believe this actually makes aikido easier to learn and more viable as a martial art. I think I am going to try this for my next few classes.
Finally I would like to say, let nothing hold you back, rush in head first and never look behind you, unless of course you are surrounded. P.S. You could also ask your Sensai at the Dojo you intend to join what his views on the matter are before signing up.

hmm, you dont need glases to practice some marcial art, but if you cant, yoc can practice other martial art, like karate, or kendo, in kendo, you can use glasses.
